Got mine 2 weeks ago. 200 rounds that afternoon, right out of the box without cleaning it. (I can hear the collective gasps; one of the gun writers I respect recently wrote in a column he thinks any modern gun that can't be shot out of the box isn't worth the box it ships in -- so I decided to try it.) Shot out the center ring at 7 yards with the first 50 rounds. Moved back to 15 yards, and my groups opened up a lot more than I'd have liked with the remaining 150 rounds. No FTFs, no stovepipes, no issues at all.
It's little snappy, but on par with my Shield. The trigger was moderately gritty when I dry fired it out of the box, but it's already smoothed out after a good cleaning in between two sessions at the range.
My only gripe so far is that the grip doesn't fill my hand as much as does my original S&W Shield. I bought a Hogue HandAll grip made for the 365 since Hogue hasn't released one for the XL yet. It fits well, but is about 1/2" too short. Now the grip fits my hand much better. Once Hogue releases the proper grip, I'll definitely snag one.
Another 100 rounds yesterday with the Hogue grip in place, and my groups have tightened up. I'm still not shooting this little gun as well as I know it can, but if this is gonna replace my P320C as my EDC, I'm going to put another 1000 or so rounds thru it before I'll be comfortable carrying it.
The night sights are smallish, but quite easy for my tired old eyes to focus on in total darkness. They are perfectly adequate in daylight, and (for now) I don't have plans to swap them out. I'm ambivalent about the soon-to-come Romeo 0 red dot. I have my name on the list at my LGS but I still haven't decided whether or not to actually buy it.
As a side note: there aren't many holsters for the XL just yet. However, it fits perfectly in the smaller Muddy River Tuckable IWB leather holster. I've been carrying it around the house in the Muddy River, and it is noticeably lighter and smaller than my P320C.I got an email from Vedder day before yesterday letting me know their LightTuck is shipping -- already ordered one. (The Vedder is one of the two IWB holsters I use for my P320C.)
So far, I haven't found any issues like the ones that plagued the original 365s. If this continues to perform as well as it's started, it will be my new EDC soon.
