Anyone know if you can do this? I see that (at least in current production, and in prior production to the best of my knowledge) Pachmayr doesn't make a Presentation grip for RB K/L frames. Does anyone know if you can put the Presentation grips designed for a SB on a RB gun with secure results? Thanks-

Chris

PS--alternatively; does anyone else produce a rubber grip that covers the backstrap and doesn't have finger grooves?

They'll work just fine. I have done it several times.
Presentations cover both the frontstrap and backstrap. The frontstrap and grip index pin should hold them snug enough.

Excellent (fingertips akimbo, a'la Monty Burns); thanks for the fast replies. I'll get myself on over to Natchez or somesuch and order me up a pair. I love'em on my N-frame--anxious to see how they feel on my K. I'm currently using a pair of the Uncle Mike's combat grips, but they're pretty ugly; I took a dremel to 'em to get those accursed finger grooves off. They work passably, but look like yesterday's banana peel.

Is it just me, or is anyone else mystified by the finger-groove mania among grip manufacturers? I've never yet held a pair that really felt right. They always position the hand too low on the backstrap, and I find myself fighting them every time I grab the dang gun.

Well, thanks again for your input, guys.

Chris

The only fingergroove grips that have ever felt comfortable in my hands (big palms but short fingers) are the round butt wooden grips on the original Dan Wesson revolvers and the similar grips S&W put on their round butt N frames. I also like the frame on an Olympis Arms Safari automatic. :)

I can't stand all the new boot grips and wraparound 1911 grips. :barf:

Just my tuppence.

Finger groove grips that fit everybody don't fit anybody. Personally I think
S&W messed up by going to the round butt frame for all revolvers. I have
used Pachmayr Presentation grips for many years and will continue to do so. The last 29-5 I bought had the round butt and finger groove grips but
I called Pachmayr and they do make a Presentation grip to fit the N frame
round butt. I ordered and received them and am very happy with them.
Did not check for K frame but I feel sure that they also make them. However, I have also used square butt grips on a round butt frame. Worked just fine

Gunhamr,
I also have them on an n-frame rd bt--but they actually don't make'em for the k-frame rb, according to any retailer I can find and according to their own website. Seems like they need to, with the universally round butts of new production guns; but mayby they think the Presentation just won't sell like the finger-grooved models? Dunno.

I have Presentation Compac for round butt on a couple snub Model 19s.
Exposed backstrap, no finger grooves, fill in behind the trigger guard.
Like em.

Pachmayr used to make a rubber grip, that was a copy of the S&W square butt target grips. The only difference, was that they were not open in the back. If you can find a pair, they fit a RB gun perfectly. I don't know what they are called, because my Dad gave them to me, and they are atleast 20 years old.
