Para

I purchased a P16 Limited from Buds and love it.

It's been reliable and accurate.

I own two Paras, a C-645 LDA which is my primary carry gun and a Big Hawg. Both are great handguns and I have no complaints. As far as customer service I can't say, I have never had the need to contact them.

My P12-45 was my eighteenth birthday present from my dad, and about two years later I acquired a P14-45. I love them both and have never had problems with either. A lot of folks claim that the double-stacked 1911 is less reliable than the single, but the only time either of them has failed at the range was when a friend of mine gave me a shot-out P14 mag and I didn't change the spring before shooting with it. Also, both of them run very well with the Promag 20-round mag I bought. :D

Para SSP

I saw a very nice looking SSP in a gunshop and took it home. It had an awesome trigger, slide to frame fit felt like it was on ball bearings. Then came the shooting part. Absolute nightmare. Shot it, tinkered with it, shot it some more. The bottom line is that they make a good gun, if you don't expect to really depend on it. I got it to the point of being mostly reliable as long as it was loaded with Para mags and dumped it at a loss. Never again.

I had one in the late 1990s, a P12-45. Whenever I post in a "what was the worst gun you ever had?" thread, this was one of them.

To be fair, this was only one gun, and a relatively long time ago. Also, I promptly got rid of it without giving P-O a chance to fix it, a view that has evolved since then.
