Here are pics of my new ( used ) Colt 3rd Model Dragoon. Picked it up at the last gun show. It came with this holster, but I am missing owners manual and the original box. Made by Uberti. The gun is in good shape, has some holster wear, but locks tight. Weight: 4 pounds.

And here a pic from the other side:

By the way - I was wondering if we ever had a "Post your Percussion Revolver pics" post in this forum? If not, this thread might be a good opportunity.

:)

ripping good professional quality pictures. Those Dragoons are nifty to shoot.

ngly, I ordered parts for this patterson from Cimmaron and they CAME! They actually had the parts. Also got most of my order from
VTI parts so have a fairly good supply of spare springs, hands, bolts, etc.
In the past, it has been impossible to get parts and it appears the situation might have changed.

Nice pics guys ....

Way back when. I had (and shot to oblivion, almost) an ol' repro (Uberti) Colt 1861 in .44 ... great fun (apart from clean-ups!). Been years without a percussion revo and always fancied a Rem model (and an Old Army!) so not too long ago purchased one from .. heck, where?? Guess it mighta been Cabellas perhaps. Only about $139 IIRC. Pietta make.

Have yet to really exploit it .. always something else wants to go to the range ... plus - yeah - that ''cleaning deal''! :D

If you can find it, get some of that American Pioneer powder. Cleans up with plain water-non hygroscopic or corrosive. Another option is Hogdons 777. Both are easy on the clean up and sulfur free. the A Pioneer is milder than fffg while the 777 is a great deal hotter.

This group was shot with 777 one handed at 50 feet. Charge was thrown from the 20 grain fff measure which is equal from a 30 grain eqivalent charge of pyrodex from the same measure

Great pictures, guys. HogRider, the holster looks good in the pictures. I recently made a couple of holsters for my '51/'61 Navies and was really pleased with the way they turned out. Used a pattern from Tandy Leather and they fit perfect - good snug fit. Would like to put some pictures on but currently don't have the capability. Does this mean I need a digital camera?;)

Thanks Mec. They're all great photos, but I'm partial to the sephia (sp) tone as it makes it look timeless.

I have cleaned myself out of BP revolvers. I am planning on a trio of custom London Navies. CAS, reenacting and British military collectibles. High polish blue, nickel plated steel grip frames and custom Turnbull CCH. They are still just in my mind for now though.

kind of wish somebody would come out with a reproduction of an adams or some other british double action-not going to happen though

Those are nice pics, here's a couple of pics of my 1970's 3rd Model Colt that I had in my hardrive. I made the walnut box that accompanies it to mimic the American style colt cases from the 1850's the grips are simulated ivory that I also made. The box has accumuliated a fair amount of wear marks over the years, but the pistol is unfired.

Dang ol' good looking work there. I understand that Juaquin Marietta favored the dragoon. If, that is, Juaquin Maarietta actually existed.
Insteresting story there as he seems to have been even more legendary than Robin Hood or King Arthur.

Here's another one, I can't figure out how to make them just appear on the screen rather than being an attachment.

Not sure I follow you. I'm just putting them as attachments right now, wouldn't I have to have a webpage to have a URL link, I used to use a pay site for posting pics on ebay, wonder if that would work?

you might be able to wrap the
thing around thepicture you have already uploaded in your posts above and get it to appear. No matter though. The click on link works good enough.
