That's a shame,

My kitty has never AYIIIIIIIIIIIAAHHHHHH GET IT OFF GET IT OFF! YIIIIIIIIIGEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOH! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET IT OFF ME! MOMMY!

OH-MY-GOD!!!!

I'm at work and I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes and couldn't breathe. Now my co-workers think I'm crazy. Thanks a lot, Braz.

How is this possible? Either that statement is a lie, or the cat was demonically possessed. Seriously

Very easily could happen.
Lung shot many an animal only to have it run. It can take time to bleed out.
Sometimes they just don't know their dead.

Only times I see them drop right down is with a spine shot or take out the shoulders.

Not hard to believe at all.

When I first moved in, we had a bad feral cat problem. A family down the road was breeding them and letting them run loose. I trapped and turned them over to animal control until they said they wouldn't take anymore.
Talked to the family and they just blew me off.

After my wife's new Jag had the paint shredded on the hood one night, she begged me to do something.
I made traps out of thin wood strapping, then tossed them into the yard with the dogs. A few got away but most didn't last 10 seconds.

After about a month, the cats went away.

No whining from the cat lovers. If you'd quit letting them run free and ruining people's stuff, there wouldn't be a problem.

The scary thing is, what if the cat wasn't hissing at the family, but at the thing that it chased up the stairs and was standing behind the family?

<Cue Twilight Zone theme>

I used to have a cat that did that to me twice. Found out later he had feline leukemia. I suspect it affected his mindset and resulted in this violent behavior. Last time he did it, he was banished outside for about a week. He eventually came back home. Didn't have the heart to put him down despite being maimed by him.

Too bad you put him ouside, could have infected a lot of cats with feline leukemia. In college I worked for a vet for three years and anytime someone had a positive test on a cat, first question we would ask is if the cat went outside ever. If the owner said it did, we recommended euthenasia just to keep it from spreading to other cats. Most owners had a hard time doing that, but many realized that their cat will cause the death of other cats and everntually their cat will die a agonizing death. When they came in a few months later with a new kitten, they were more than happy to get a feline luekemia vaccination.

On topic, evil cat=soon to be dead cat, same applies to othe critters too.

I dunno. It was an eight pound cat hit in the chest with a 40. It had to take out heart, lungs and exit thru the spine. How could it not be DRT?

Maybe there wasn't enough cat for the round to act on. Going so fast it blew right on through without impacting anything vital.

In any case, rounds fail to work immediately all the time on all sizes of animals and people.

I mean it's possible for a cat to survive a hit with a .40, but what would the probability be?

Don't Go Down in the Basement

Sorry, I just had to laugh at this one. I know it's really bizarre, and as a pet owner of several 4 legged critters at our house myself, I can appreciate how surprised and upset the family must have been over this incident.

But hey, what the Heck WAS down there in that basement??????????

Reminds me of the book and movie "Pet Cemetery". A Stephen King book,IIRC.

This is exactly the reason the only way I like my cats is: "smothered, covered, scattered and chunked."

In an effort to be "politically correct" I will say this in meant to be HUMOR.
That being said: Only those from the south will "get it".

Cat the other white meat :what:

Bad Griz

and after a bad hit you still can't go running through the house emptying the mag.

Griz - you got me in trouble I laughed so much I woke up the wife.

I also laid down the law to the cats in the house here. I got a .45 and a shovel!

Cheers,
Mike.

Maybe he got electrocuted.
Our cat bit through an electrical cord and got zapped. He acted just like this cat did for about three days!! The vet said that there was nothing we could do about it, except wait it out. He would either recover or die!! He recovered and is currently sleeping on my mouse pad!!

He stays away from the cords and outlets now, though!!!

I've owned many cats over the years (two at present) and more than a few dogs. All the past generations lived long, healthy and lazy lives.

There is something about a pizzed off cat that scares me one heck of a sight more than a pizzed off canine. Cats are just amazingly strong and fast. When they freak, they are hard to handle w/o getting hurt.

Not sure I would have uncorked a firearm in a dwelling as this officer did, but I wasn't there. I guess if you have no choice, the saying "Use enough gun comes into play".
Sounds like the officer needed a at least 454 Catsul.

As far as the tiger story goes, if they find the owner they should throw the book at him or her.

Like Crikey, I've likewise let my cat know precisely where she stands. Should she come back up the stairs demonically possessed, I'm firing to slide lock with fifteen of my best 9mm hollowpoints and anything still twitching will be hastily dispatched with the machete. I'm taking no chances.

make sure the cutting edge of shovel is honed to a good angle- makes it easier to finish the job if it is called for.

sounds like kitty found daddy's crack rock in the basement...
As I read the story I actually wondered if the cat had gotten into someone's stash of drugs.
