The Walker, Paterson, Dragoon and Tower pistol are replicas; the rest are original with matching numbers. The nickel/ivory one is a Turkish copy of a colt. I'm told it's a "period" copy made in the 1800s but I'm not sure.

:p Ah, the Tower Flintlock. I wish Dixie would bring that one back with a good frizzen. As I recall, the instructions said that you had to harden the frizzen to get a good spark.

The rest of that looks pretty impressive, too. However, what are those Minie Balls doing in the pistol case? Imagine those things being loaded into that longer than normal cylinder!

The Doc is out now.

That's just where my dad chose to store them. I understand they fit the tower but, as you correctly pointed out, the lock/frizzen on that are completely worthless if you actually want to fire the thing.LOL

The Paterson, Walker, and Dragoon all need to be timed; I was planning on shipping them to bigiron but I'm glad I didn't based on recent threads. Anyone know anyone else who does quality work on replica cap/balls?

I'd like to be able to shoot them. I remember my dad and I fired the 3rd model about 20 years ago... my ears are still ringing.:D

I understand that the original colts should be cleaned only with a quality oil.

Several of them are in shooting condition... ;)

I saw at least one thread here where an original army was fired... dunno if I'd do it, though.

Wow! Those revolvers are just beautiful! I especially like the Colt copy with the ivory grips. Have you shot any of the old guns, or are you saving them? That vintage Colt copy looks like it would hold a massive powder charge! The cylinder looks way longer than a standard '51.

Yeah, it's kind of weird. It's the size of the colt pocket, not the 1851. Says .35 cal, too.

It, in particular, has a very crisp, tight action. I'd like to know if it was indeed made in the 1800s.

If anyone out there has any info I'd appreciate it. Made by M N Aramians, Constantinople. Serial #467XX

The 1860 Army and 1861 Navy are also very tight, as is the pocket police. I could probably shoot those if I decided to.

1kperday,
They were converted to 44 Rem./Colt C.F. And that is the cartridge I shoot in them, one has an R & D Drop-in Cylinder in that caliber. I load Holy Black and I do have some loaded in Trail Boss for indoor shooting and Home Defense.
Bulet is a 248 Grn outside lubed heeled bullet with .451 Drive bands. that is the Original Remington bullet for original 44 Cal. Remington and Colt Conversions...and almost every other 44 Cal conversion.
