Wow.....at least i've got some photos to show my wife IF she ever says
"your getting paranoid." Mind you, never to much ammo, but I thought my having 400 rounds .22 , 200 9mm, 100 38 special, 100 .357, 300 .40, 300 .45acp, 100 12 guage and 100 20 guage. I'm prepared for a katrina hold out and you guys are prepared for those zombie type movies. I may need to rethink my supplies and stock up on more.

Don't have pictures do have some ammo. By the way I do agree the antis don't need us to supply pictures, information or truth.

Is it a stockpile?

I can usually make what I need in a short amount of time. ;)

Buy it cheap and stack it deep!

Here's most of what I've got. 90% bought when it was much, much cheaper (wish I could have done that with gasoline!).

If you don't like seeing someone owning this much ammo, tough. Deal with it. I ain't breaking any laws, and it ain't going to blow up, spontaneously combust or some other foolishness.

It's nice to go to the range and blow off 300 or so rounds of 7.62x51 that only cost me 15 cents a round or 5.56 that only cost 18 cents a round. :D

I'd be more worried about them banning ammo if I didn't have any. If they started an ammo tax right now or banned import of all ammo, it wouldn't affect me much at all anymore. There's something to be said for being self sufficient.

I have been going by the "survivor blog" suggestion for ammo. I thought I was crazy, WOW there are some nice stockpiles! I am still working on the gun & Ammo room. I like the pictures shown above! :)

As far as stock piles go....Survivor Blog suggests (Going from memory) 1000 for your Main Assault type Gun minimum, and 500? for each other caliber. They suggest each adult have a 22, 12 GA, Assault Rifle in .223 or 7.62x39, A scoped long range rifle in .30-06 or .308, and a pistol in 9mm or .45. Not that I am a worried about as many things as they are, but I do find thinking about "What If" from all of the different perspectives very entertaining and thought provoking. I really wish more Americans thought about where they lived and at least prepaired for the natural disasters (Food, Water, First Aid)that can occure in thier area.:scrutiny: Then maybe a few more will think about the possibility of the man made kind. :( But here, this is preaching to the choir!

I personally do not see it as something the antis can use. they think one gun and one round of ammo of any kind is excessive.

letting them understand that it is very common for people to have multiple firearms and hundreds or thousands of rounds is a good thing, in fact, for gun owners, it is probably close to the norm. I would bet most gunowners own more than one gun.

You guys with the stuff at the top of shelves, need to find a new spot. If you do have a fire, and it's that high off the ground you WILL lose it. Keep it low, and waterproof. Trust me, I speak from experiencing the aftermath of a lot of fires.

Nice, im too lazy (tired) to take any pics of my ammo, but i got
1260rounds turkish 8mm (got yesterday for $200!!!!)

1400rounds 7.62x39

750rounds 7.62x25

150rounds 7.62x51

100rounds 7.62x54(more soon to come)

and a meager supply of 12ga and .38special, not too bad for an 18 year old?????

I love this thread! ; . )

No pictures from me but plenty of ammunition here for various calibers of firearms. HIS and HERS. I mainly shoot 45Colt aka long colt and 22LR now plus 30-30 for a center fire rifle. He shoots all kinds of firearms.

One of those heavy duty plastic shelving units that hold heavy garage stuff, tools, can goods, etc. is sturdy enough for ammunition... lower shelves. Home Depot sells them and it has a weight limit stated on them. I don't put ammo up high. Metal military cases work well along with other set ups including a safe or a gun storage unit.

Zombies? Most of my 5.56 was bought at 17 cents a round, my 9mm at 10 cents. I sure wish I bought more at those prices.

I've posted it several times before, I don't care what anyone else thinks about what I choose to do with my time, money, or space. With that in mind-

My minimum has always been 1000 rounds per gun, not 1000 per caliber, 1000 per each individual gun. Why?

Well you've all seen what the price of metals has done lately, right? Hasn't affected my shooting much.

Lose my job? It's a sure thing I wouldn't like it, but-
I'd still be filling my belly out of my food storage, and I'll still be hunting and shooting without worrying about whether I've got enough ammo to last.

Ya' all do remember Katrina, right? Well around here we're well overdue for a good earthquake..........

Yeah, being in Champaign during central Illinois' earthquake a few weeks ago makes it seem like that kind of a disaster can happen anywhere.

It was weird being half asleep and asking myself, "Why is my bed shaking?" :p

Finally got a photo taken of my "gun mentor's" stash. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a wide enough shot to get everything; there's a bunch on the shelving to the right of the frame. We inventoried up to ~166,000 rounds, and estimate it's about 300k total.

I can deal with my own comparatively puny supply only because I'm a bit ahead of where he was when he was my age. :)

:what: 300k round!? Thats insane.

I wont even bother posting my stash up as it is horribly understocked. Hope to get into reloading soon, but I have tuition to pay  we'll see...
