Pietta 1851 Navy Loading Lever Clamp.

Hello.
I just 3D-printed a loading lever clamp for my 1851, to prevent the lever from dropping under recoil when using heavy loads. It sure looks goofy but should work fine. The file is on Thingiverse:

Ummmm, if your 1851 is dropping the loading lever with heavy loads, that issue is resolved in a couple of minutes with a triangular file and a little bit of Cold Blue - this is not a Walker...

I do a bit of tuning on loading leaver catches, get the angles correct get rid of the sharp corners that cut my fingers. On one I had to knock the pin out and lengthen the slot for it to pop out further.

He's right. I haven't seen one yet that couldn't be fixed with a file unless something was broken.

Thanks guys. Turns out, my lever doesn't drop... But I printed the clamp before my first range session with the gun in case I needed it... Well, it cost me only a bit of time and plastic, no big deal. It's available if anyone ever needs it...

Walkers are notorious for lever drop. Dragoons with a vertical latch are known for it. Everything else is good to go.

I have admiration and respect for those who can make anything with a 3-D printer. Whether or not I would ever use that particular clamp is irrelevant.

My "shop revolver" an 1851 that gets experimented on, does the same thing. I haven't taken the time to properly fix the problem. It seems that one can lightly tighten the loading lever screws and put a little bit of friction on the pivots and reduce the lever dropping problem. At least it helps on my Walkers, plus doing the loading lever spring thingy modification.
