That happened to a cousin of mine. He tried to hunt one with a 45 Lb bow and arrow. Arrow didn't penetrate. Pig got mad. Pig got even. Cousin got hurt. Cousin got smarter. 
I learned to have a healthy fear of boar before I ever started to hunt them. Good video. Thanks for sharing it.

Years back, a friend of mine got treed by a wild hog. He was hurting for money and thought killing a wild hog would be a good way to get some meat in the freezer. He went out with a .357 revolver, the only gun he owned, and six rounds of ammo...also all he owned. He nicked a boar on the first shot. It came after him and he sprayed the other 5 rounds without hitting it. He scrambled up a tree and spent the night there, sure that if he came down the hog would get him on the way to his car. He came straight to work the next day, looking like he'd slept in a tree. I bought him a couple family packs of ground meat so his kids could eat until payday and counseled him to leave the pigs alone.

More often than not....hogs (Boars or Sows) will 'go the other way' if given the chance.
BUT......if they don't, it can turn out badly for you, especially when armed only with a bow and arrow.
A couple of the videos show a hunter WAY out in the middle of a bald field (not a tree or bush within a quarter mile) stalking and shooting a pig. Nothing to get behind...to keep the pig off of you.
I don't know if it occurred to them or not, but not even Carl Lewis is going to outrun a P/O'd pig!
The outcome is predictable enough.
Use common sense folks!

Most of the hogs I've shot are bayed up by my Boykin and I use 00 buckshot in a 12ga. The shots are generally ~ 10-20 yards.

When the shooting starts there are no guarantees. I personally have been run by and brushed, run over, and had a REALLY big one almost got me, wanting nothing more than to share the pain, after being hit hard with a 140gr BT out of my 7x30 Waters Contender. That big had over a 100 acres of woods to head off into and was 40yds away at the shot. He cut that in half in no time.

Yeah, that's the other thing about pigs that will surprise you. Unless they are tired...they can go from zero to full speed in about 3-4 jumps. So when they decide to get in your back pocket, they will be there quick.

I've hunted 'em on foot before, with a .308. I'm usually in a tripod stand or box blind. MOST of the pigs I've killed have been trapped. Took one with my .357 carry when walking my place, but he was only 80 lbs and it was a head shot, DRT.

I killed a lot of hogs with a 357 while stalk hunting and a couple with a 308 . Can't out run a hog but being young in an earlier life and quick of reflex sure can save your butt when trees are near. That's also when I learn about point shooting , one hand is for holding on to a small cypress tree to help you jump out of the way and the occasional quick shoot at a fast moving hog try'n to hook you as it goes by. Got luck and di not loose anything to a hog and growed up to be a little wiser. had a lot of fun back then . Nothing like catching and cutting a boars nuts and getting away from it when done.

Never lived in the vicinity of wild hogs, and seeing this makes me glad. I think if I did hunt them it would be from a tree with the biggest gun I could bring.
I may have an opportunity to hunt hogs in Florida.Probably in the central part of the state.A relative there has a selection of rifles from .223 to 7mm mag.Is barrel length a consideration due to thick cover?I have a 161/2 inch barrel Ruger M77 bolt action in .243 for deer in the brush in PA.

Shot one off my back porch in my back yard last year.
They come to bait, best hunted at night. My .308 is a good pig killer.

I hunt them alone on foot up close with a contender and my hk 45 just in case. Only killed 3 so far. Not much trouble. But every time I get close to them my heart feels like a jackhammer, stomach feels upside down and inside out. I'm quite frankly scared absolutely to death of them.
