This approach is a little off topic (makes a lousy one-handed gun) but gets around NFA and even California regs. Mine weighs under 5 lbs. loaded. Just took it to the range Monday.

Only a little (did not want to get the guy's hopes up--lots of looking, not much buying today).
The "feel" was odd to me--just had sort of a STEN vibe, ok, a bit of Sterling in there, too. But, I was not really approaching them without an opinion--I saw something that looked sten-like, and then saw the MechTech logo. So, I was starting from a "what sort of conversion is this" sort of attitude, which was unfair.
