The problems I have with the cargo pockets:
They're far away.
You can't casually reach into one.
It's weight swinging around even further from your hip.
There's a flap you have to undo.
What's wrong with carrying the gun in a front pocket like any other pants? You have two additional pockets you can store stuff in. Why not relocate the phone, keys, wallet, or money clip into a cargo pocket?
The pockets on mine are only an arms length away and the flaps are closed with velcro so they're easy to open. This is not a mode of carry I would use very frequently at all. But it is convenient for a quick run to the store when I don't want to strap up or shift stuff around in my pockets. It is nice and easy for those times I might not bother to carry for a quick trip. I am not crazy about pocket carry at all. Front pocket carry I find uncomfortable in a car but the cargo pocket is not. I just want the gun not to shift position so easily in that big pocket.
Like I said it isn't something I would do very often so the fact that some of the holsters suggested are relatively inexpensive is a big plus.
