Pocket holsters are illegal?

Mayor,
They are kosher...no worries from the Batmen as long as ya gotta remove it from the holster to fire it...

Burned up pocket's might upset the spouse a bit though

Doesn't make sense that carrying in your pocket without a holster is OK and with one is not. More difficult to get it out of the holster IMHO. I carry this way. Front pocket, with holster because of the way I have to dress at work. It would bother me to carry without a holster to be honest. More chance of a ND.

to do the initial manufacture/registration.

Makes sense for a SBR or sawed off but how would you do a wallet?
Not being a contrarian I was just wondering.

So is it true if I wanted to get any AOW short barrelled 870 the total damages would be $205?

For the wallet, you fill out ATF FORM 1 and send a check for $200. If you are making your 870 AOW yourself, you also do a FORM 1 and $200. If you are buying an already registered 870 AOW on a FORM 4, it is just $5.

I think we got a problem here

Azrael, I think you missed Mayor's question about the hammerless revolvers inside a coat pocket. You said,
Mayor,

Mayor didn't mention using a holster, just putting a hammerless revolver inside a coat pocket through which you could easily fire. Therefore, if this from "boofus" is accurate,
If it is a container that you can use to shoot a gun while it is hidden inside, then it is considered an Any Other Weapon under the National Firearms Act of 1934.
then we're screwed. There's nothing stopping ATF from effectively banning hammerless revolvers by using the "constuctive possession" crap on someone who owns one if they also own a coat. "Millcreek" alluded to this when he said
When BATF came out with their ruling, I noted particularly that mere possession of the holster along with the pistol was now a felony unless you did the AOW registration.
:fire:

Mac...I understoof what he was saying, I just didnt make myself clear is all...We southerner's sometimes TYPE with a southern accent :D

The Batmen dudes ruled it an AOW because it was a "disguised" firearm...A AOW holster looks like a wallet and can be fired that way... An unholstered J-frame looks like an unholstered J-frame...The disguised part of the sentence is the problem....IIRC Penguns and Caneguns fall into the same category..

Is that more clear??
