POF Tombstone in the wild

My local shop had a POF tombstone in stock so I fondled and took some pictures of things I thought were notable. Couple things that first stood out to me is that the finish on the forend and receiver were way different in color and the barrel exterior had heavy rough machining marks. Racking the side I noticed there is almost no mechanical advantage to cock the hammer so the last 1/3rd of the cycle suddenly becomes very stiff at an abrupt point, and then the hammer drags on the bottom of the bolt while closing so there is kind of a gritty drag on the bolt. The $300 Turkish shotguns that were next to it look brilliantly well made by comparison.

The finish dosent bother me, but its a very expensive novelty.
I think it's cool but I wouldn't spend $1,800 on it even if everything was perfect.
At 7 or 800 I'd be perfectly happy to deal with cleaning up the action, and painting it however i wanted.

I also saw one at my LGS. I did not handle it though. I took a couple of photos.

I am not sure why, but every time I look at this gun I see a Steam Powered Giraffe video playing somewhere in my mind. If you aren’t familiar with this group look up their videos. Definitely very different.

Check out Honest Outlaw’s review on YouTube, not very stellar. I think he now refers to it as the POS.

wow, that was a **** show. Maybe just a mag issue. I guess I never thought of it, but some sort of last round bolt hold open or something would be a really nice feature to add. Maybe just a magazine follower that blocks the bolt from closing like in military mauser.
