All of the above
Out of the choices you present, I would suggest an S&W revolver in 45 Colt. Not just for range fun, but also as a solid companion for outdoor adventures.I can see a crossroads in the distance so I’m preparing JIC. Having logged 140 hours of OT at work this month and currently working on another ~100+ hour stint has me pondering a selfish purchase. A little background for clarity: bills are paid, no credit card debt, saving with a double retirement so no other money woes. That first $3500 went toward family obligations like summer vacation being prepaid and a new balcony/deck. The wife and kids got 4 of the last 5 firearms and she bought a new car (I fixed mine up and it runs fine).
Soooo...I was thinking I might give myself a budget of $1,200 to border on DW 1911 territory but could easily stay at $400 used territory and play it safe. Been looking over a year at Sauer 100 rifles, but honestly I have enough of everything from centerfire to rimfire to black rifles to 1911s, cc pistols, and muzzleloaders to last me till the grave.
If it were you though, and the windfall was waiting, what would you choose and why? I know everyone is partial to one thing or another, perfectly fine to say so.

What I would chose has nuttin' to do with what you might chose. This is why I never understood these "which gun should I get?" threads. For the most part, I think they a just an attempt from the OP, to get some form of validation for their personnel choice.
I know it is not on your list so forgive me but my Grail gun would be a S&W Model 57 41mag. I don't know why I find this gun so intriguing but I do.
I'm going to speak heresy -
I've recently taken stock of my firearms, and can honestly say the I'm lacking nothing. There are some gaps in long guns, but I can kill anything I hunt with what I have. Too, I'm not into big recoiling rifles. Handguns.... well, I gotta stop buying handguns. I can't shoot what I have.
