None of the above. I carry an HK USP 9mm in the winter and a Kahr PM9 in the summer. The HK gives me a high capacity magazine, excellent accuracy and it has been utterly reliable with over 2000 rounds down the pipe. I carry it in a Del Fatti ISP/LP IWB holster which makes it easy to conceal when dressed for winter weather. The Kahr is much easier to conceal in the summer months and is perhaps the best deep conceal pistol on the market.
XD-SC is my Summer carry. Why I bought it was because it fit me ergonomically and it was much lighter than the 1911 I had been lugging around. Why I kept it is because because it's accurate, dependable, and fast.
For tiny gun use like the few mentioned in this poll, I use a Springfield EMP. Liked it so much got one for my 22yo daughter to carry in place of her Colt Combat Elite.
So I go for the EMP as my small primary carry, when I ain't carrying my Springfield Professional. Still have the S&W 642 with CTC laser grip in the left front pocket for my BUG. Switched over to the 642 from the 638 at the time and other bodyguard family about 12 years ago.
FlyboyJS, have you tried to get a permit?
Much of Northern CA seems to be closer to reasonable on the subject. See the above map and get onto the calguns and CA CCW forums for more info, obviously.
Smith and Wesson Bodyguard, Taurus UL85, FNP 45, 1911 45, or a Taurus 24/7 LS in 45. They all shoot straight and go "bang" when I pull the trigger...every time.

I have tried and I'm in the process over here in Sac County. I've done the app and turned in, I'm just awaiting the Sheriff's letter now. One of these days
