I've just been doing some general musings on gun politics in the US, and have come to the realization that it is extremly unlikely that gun control laws will begin to be repealed, despite the fact that it has been shown that they do not reduce crime or have any positive effects. We should always be fighting for absolute rights, but most likely we will have to come to a compromise. All right, would you be opposed to a licensing program that would require one seeking to buy a firearm to do the following:
After recieving this license, one could:
- Background check
- Be older than 21 years of age
- Be a US citizen
- Be free of any violent felony convictions
After recieving this license, one could:
- Be legal to carry at the federal level
- Own magazines of any capacity
- Have firearms of any barrel length, cartridge size, over all length, etc.
- No more evil AW features (pistol grips, bayonet lugs, etc)
- Machine-guns are ok
- Firearms could be shipped to your door
- All previous firearms regulations are repealed
- The only regulations on weapons are those that fire an exploding or incinderary shell and those that cannot be operated and transported by an individual
