$1499 msrp... gonna have to save my pennies I guess.
Anybody feel the ground just shake? That was all of the diehard fanboys fainting in excitement, and the diehard collectors fainting in nervousness. I’m glad they are back in the game, but it’s gonna take a whole lot of convincing for me to believe that the new pythons are better than a custom shop 686, a high end gp100, or a DW15. I’m betting you could buy at least 2 of those for roughly what they want for a new python.
btw... have they announced yet if it has the progressive rifling on the barrel? I’m honestly just curious if they might make good barrels for making new smolts.
Doesn't even need to be a custom shop 686. An off the shelf model with some trigger work will do the job. I've shot the Python side by side with a 686 and a Ruger Match Champion and really don't understand what is so appealing about them.Anybody feel the ground just shake? Well, its made by Colt. Its got the Python name on it, its a real Python- just a new generation. This is not a real Python... There - I said it, it had to be said. This revolver has the newer, Mk. III/V type action, so it's basically a new Colt revolver sharing a name and looks with the classic model, but nothing more. Comparing it to a "real" Python will be a pointless exercise, much like comparing the new "Cobra" to the old one - those are two completely different revolvers.
That's ridiculous. It's a real Python because Colt and the serial number says it is, much like the VIN on a classic car says what it truly is, so that LeMans owners can't ever turn their cars into real GTOs.This is not a real Python... My old blue Python was OK, but I've never really missed it since I sold it after I had the broken hand it had fixed. I have 2 DW 15-2's, a 715, a SAR sr38, an S&W 28-2, and a Taurus 658, so I doubt I'll bite, but I know a couple of people who will almost for certain.

The 9mm EZ surprised everyone when it came out

I just watched a video that says it has a leaf spring action.
