The notion that all factory produced low-cost ammo is of equal quality, and loaded to the same consistent specs, may be a bit optimistic.
Also, it's not the gun's "fault" if an owner tries to use some bullet type/config that the factory didn't really expect would be used in their pistol.
How many makers of modern "service" pistols does anyone think uses LWSC ammo for R&D and production gun test-fire? How many military & LE agencies do they suspect will even specify that they intend to use LSWC in their duty weapons? Or even for training?
If someone wants to run a factory FP, SWC or truncated MC bullet for training in their .45's, they can find MC loads to meet their needs in factory ammo. I'd normally expect a beveled FP MC round to feed and fire in my .45's, but I'd certainly confirm it in my guns, in my hands.
