Post your targets - The 15 yard pistol challenge

Kludge, it's open ended so do it whenever. Also if response is positive (as it seems it's going to be) I'll come up with some other challenges and post them along the way as well.

Hey, this is a great idea. I'll print out the target and post the results this weekend. I'd do it tonight but it's dark when I get home :(

I'll do one for my XD40 and my Nagant Revolver, which is surprisingly accurate, and the only firearm I own which has been used to take the life of an animal (possum).

Well just break out the laser or flashlight.:D

I plan on including some after dark shooting targets.
I've got a backyard range and try to get laser practice once or twice a week.

BTW, if you set your printer to the worst Draft setting the targets are very cheap to print. The target picture quality isn't great but it's good enough for a target.

It's a little chilly and windy but not too bad.

This is a 2 inch S&W Mod 10 I bought in 1960. I believe it shoots better now than when new.:)

I didn't think to mention the target was shot single action. I very seldom shoot double action unless the pistol is DOA. I don't even think about it. By the time the gun comes on target the hammer is cocked.

Can I print it out at 400% to make mine bigger!?

Just kiddin'... I'll have mine posted tommorrow.

Still shooting

Picking up the four inch 625 revolver off the table for each DA shot. Then setting it back down. Trying to practice a draw without a holster.
Is a indoor range cheating?

M2carbine... nice shootin'. Looks like I'm getting shown up already .

No not really.:)

I've found that one of the best ways to improve your shooting is with friendly no pressure contests like this.

Every time friends and I shoot we come up with things like calling "only head shots count", shooting mutable targets, hostage targets, etc.
Just anything to make you work a little at your shooting.:)

1KPerDay,
the gun is a whole lot more accurate than that target shows.
At least 80% of that spread is the 69 year old shooter and the wind today.
The gun will shoot 1 3/4 inch at thirty yards but I haven't been able to do that in a couple years.:(

The wind's too high to get a decent group so here's a fun target.

Can't blame those two high shots on the wind though. I knew they were bad before I looked.:D

heres mine. im not that good of a shot though, so dont go blaming my gun. it was about 12 degrees with a wind chill of zero, and 9mph winds that gusted a little. This was relatively quick fire, i will take my time more next time im out to try to put up a better one.

This sounds like fun to me, I'll shoot one tomorrow and post it tomorrow night. This is great for everyone, no contest, just results from different guns and loads.

I have to admit I shot mine indoors, with my most accurate pistol, a IZH46M.

I am sorry but my printer is doa temporarily. How about a series of Midway targets. I normally shoot at 15 or 25 yards. These are all 15 yards, 50 shots per group. All fired 2 handed off hand. They appear to be the same size as your targets.

question;Im printing these out on 8.5x11 paper,is this the size we are suppose to use?Eitherway this size will be fine for me.

nice .45 Xavier.Excellent, will produce my results soon, maybe tommorrow.:)

with what, haven't made up my mind yet.

Im thinking we should sticky this one...yes?

Yes, 8.5x11, that is why I wanted to use the .PDF file so we all were shooting something pretty close to the same size.

We're really getting some nice shooting here. I may have to go back and try some slow-fire two handed shooting so I have some smaller groups to show :D

Seriously though I'm still not displeased with my own showing considering that I really was shooting at combat speed so careful aim wasn't really the highest priority. Actually I was quite surprised that I didn't have fliers right off the paper (Kel-Tec aside).
