I have a lee Perfect powder measure (I know its not the best) that I have used for 2000 rounds so far with no problems. Recently I acquired some fine grain powder. Before I had only used flake powder. While using the fine powder the Lee Measure becomes stiff and unusable after only 25 rounds. Has any one else ever experienced such an issue? Needless to say I am in the market for a replacement. What would you suggest as a cost efficient replacement?

Gfpd707, I was in the same boat recently & experienced similar problems. I had a few of the grey beards on the board recommend the Redding 10-X; although a bit pricey, I purchased one. I've had good results ever since & it works well for my needs. Take a look and see what you think about it.

Fine powder is leaking into the rotor area; I tightened up the rotor screw a bit on my PPM and it now leaks a lot less with ball powder. Takes a little more effort to rotate the handle now but it seemed like a good trade off. Every once in a while it will bind up and get a little stiffer but it usually works itself out within a few more throws and hasn't ever become unusable. It does throw very accurately so I haven't really messed with it besides that. Some guys lap the rotor for a tighter fit so fine powders are less likely to get in there. I haven't used any other measure but I have a feeling that if I did, I would probably become spoiled to the PPM and upgrade.
