All mine have hogue wraparound grips. I keep all my original grips. I have GI grips, 2 Delta elite grips, I even have a set of factory colt rattlesnake skin grips. I just prefer the hogue
Have tried a few different ones but like to go with either Pachmayrs (sometimes with the front strap removed and I prefer the ones with the Colt medallion), or the factory wood grips (really like the look and feel of the double diamond grips that came on my newer Colts). The Kim Ahrends' Rosewood skip checkered grips (on my TacSol .22 conversion), are also nice to look at as well as giving a solid feel to the grips.

Those are beautiful wood grips!for pure aesthetics I rather like scales from Esmeralda
This picture doesn't do justice to the figure in this pair, it's much more distinct and beautiful.

I have a set of Hogue rubber finger groove grips and a set of Pachmyre rubber finger groove grips on my 1911's. I can't really tell any difference between the different brands. They both increase the circumference of the grip a bit... but I like the larger grip for my long hands. The finger groves increase the surface area of your fingers that contacts the grip which gives me much better control of the gun with a lighter grip. If you haven't guessed I really like finger groove rubber grips... but I have several friends that despise my grips because they are too big for their girly hands which makes it MUCH harder for them to hold on to my 1911's.Been thinking of getting some rubber hogue grips for my SR1911, the wood just doesn't have the grip I'm looking for. What do you guys like?
Just checked out the site and their ‘ridgeback’ line of grips seem to be just like the ones I was gushing about in my earlier post fwiw. I’ll probably order a set. Thank you
