So in one of the gunstores here in Anchorage, there is a CZ 75 pistol for sale and I can grab it at $299. While I was wanting to buy a backup gun or a Mosin-Nagant next, I must say I rather liked the pistol and I'd like a 9mm.

What do you guys think? Is this a good deal?

Sounds like a great deal.

Is it a pre-B, ie made before about 1994?

The models made before about 1988 are a little more selective in the magazines they accept. The mag well gets slight narrower at the top near the sear and the newly made MecGars might not fit.

Go for it, there are few autos that shoot as well as a CZ75B. Under $300 you can't go wrong....

CZs are good pistols, and that price makes it excellent. I would buy it just because its a great deal whether I needed it or not.

75...

At that price ($299) I'm assuming that the gun is USED and it's an older 75 rather that a 75B...
If that's the case, it's still a good price... and I'd get it.
If it's USED and a 75B... it's a REAL GOOD price...
If it's NEW and a 75B, order a dozen and I'll take a couple off your hands!!
.

I paid $425 for a new 75b earlier this year. The same shop has them for $479 now.
Prices in my area are running about the same though the ONE stainless CZ I saw recently was priced at $655! (seriously, ***!)

So yeah, it sounds like a good used price and an OUTSTANDING new price.

Which store.....

You better grab it cause now I'm going to start calling around, I would love to have another 75B. I love the one I got, its the two tone version and I think I paid $350 for it used. It shoots great and fits my hand perfectly. I did recently have to replace the extractor but no big deal, easy fix....

Just kidding about buying it out from under you, lord knows I don't need another handgun...

Pre "B"'s tend to sell for more than "B" models in my experience. I would guess it is a 75B Military, but that would only be a guess.
