I recently acquired a MAADI MISR-90 with two hi-cap mags, a 5 rounder, a nylon sling and case at a price that would be considered highway robbery right now. I got it off a kid who was like 23 and figured he had no idea about the gun market to be selling it for so cheap, I was suprised he was up to date on the buying frenzy and inflated prices but just wanted to move the gun to buy a turbo kit for his car. (He'll regret that in a few years I bet.) Anyways, it has a black polymer skeletonized stock on it with black polymer vented handguards and its in really good shape, he said it was bought new 5 years ago and has about 1000 rds down the pipe. I've read the MISR-90 is a MAADI receiver with MAK-90 parts and was assembled in China and imported through CAI. What's the going price on these?? I'm looking to sell it b/c I have a WASR 10-63 and just like the feel of it better. Is $700 a fair price for just the gun and 5 rd mag?? I'd like to keep the 2 hi cap mags for my WASR. I've been told it's arguably a better AK than my WASR but I don't like the front sight block or the skeletonized stock and I paid about $200 more for the WASR than I did the MISR-90. If you were in my situation and liked the wood furniture AK's, would you sell the WASR and replace the stock and FSB on the Maadi or just sell the Maadi as is?? Thanks.

Rifles are assembled in the USA by Century Arms.
$700.00 is waaaay too much for what you would be receiving.

I dunno, this seems to be a sellers market right now.
I have an early Misr Sport rifle, Egyptian made and imported by B-West that I paid $200 for and I think that is about all it is worth.
Have been offered twice that for the rifle but want to keep it since everybody should have an AK rifle in their collection.

I recently sold my Saiga 7.62X39 sporter carbine for $350 with four 10 shot magazines.
I wouldn't offer any more than that for a Century made AK but that is me and me alone speaking.
Personally, to keep from insulting the seller, I would pass on the offer and keep looking.

You have to decide what you as a buyer are willing to spend to get a rifle from the current market.HTH

The MISR-90 is not a shining example of the AK design. Seven bills is nuts, even right now. Try $400 if you want to move it fast.

I monitor Gunbroker on a regular basis and the selling price of many stamped MAK-90s (a much higher quality rifle) has dropped to between $500 and $650. One, see link below, even went for a hair under $500 last week. I just saw a nice Maadi RML go for $450. The buying frenzy may have just jumped the shark.

I think $400 is low, WASR's are moving quick with the lowest at $480. I was reading a thread on the gunbroker forums and a dealer said WASR's are going for a lil over $700 at gunshows in Tenn. and another guy said he just sold his last WASR for $657 and I've heard the MISR 90 is slightly nicer than a WASR. I think if I put it up at $400, I'll have so much interest I'll wish I'd have put it at like $550. I'm not trying to price gouge but I'm not trying to give out deals of the century either, not when I see WASR's going for over $600.

MAADI is worth $350-$400 on a good day.
I'd ask $500 and negotiate down as required.
That's an Egyption rifle...doubt any MAK-90 parts are in it (unless cobbled together).
Personally, I prefer the AK's with the factory furniture, but to each his own.

Onmilo, I know what you're saying and wouldn't be offended at all if you told me only an idiot would spend that much for a Maadi, that's the reason I asked, obviously I want to sell it for the max I can get. Some may flame me for price gouging but you only see the inflated prices b/c people are buying at that price, it's not like an AK is gas or food or something that's necessary to people. I've just read a few places that the Maadi's are slightly better quality than the WASR's and I've seen WASR's going for $550 to $700 depending on the location. I put it on gunbroker with the reserve at $525 and buy it now at $700. No takers yet but I'll likely be trading it for a S&W 340 titanium airlite with CT laser grips, it's supposed to be great condition with only 75 rounds through it, may even get a holster and some ammo on the deal.
