Primers preorder...

Noah, as the originator of this thread I would like to thank you very much for stopping by and candidly answering everyone’s questions.

I don’t reload a lot of SPP but I ordered 5000. I believe I will order 5000 more (and face the wrath of my wife) because these seem to be the most sought after size, and I have had zero luck finding any locally. It’s very frustrating when you are unable to shoot a neat old gun because you can’t find components to load an obsolete cartridge.

Thank you for undertaking the considerable trouble and effort to make this happen!

While one understands this is a new venture is there a reason to charge up front? Most companies I have dealt with do not charge my card until right before the item is shipped. If I cancel before no harm no foul. If something happens and this does not go through then refunding monies will cost you since credit card fees have already been charged. Surely if it is going to be 3 or 4 years before other primers are available you will have no problem selling all you can get.

Following for the entertainment...I'm gonna wager that by the time these are shipped I have some cci, federals or winchesters on the shelf at a fair price. If not I will still be good for awhile...;)

Entertainment? There's another word for that in internet lingo...

The reason we opened presales is to give people a chance to get a spot on our first order. Lately, when someone posts ammo or components, it pops up on a site (ammoseek for example), and by the time you see it and go to the website, its sold out. I wanted to avoid this and give people a chance to get in line with a guaranteed spot. If the amount of preorders exceeds my ability to fulfill, I'll pause the preorder until I have a timeline for the next shipment. We are also discussing a primer subscription program once we establish a shipment schedule so you guys can have a lot shipped to you every month and you don't have to worry about timing your purchase with what we have in stock. It'll be all set to go and any surplus we have after the subscriptions are met, will be sold to the general public. Kinda like a primer club.

Geez, I actually did some work today and was away from the computer. I came back to a LOVE FEST.

Noah, thanks for stopping by here. You didn’t need to explain yourself, I’m glad you did.

Have you contracted with a Hazmat shipper? How are you planning on shipping?

I’ve started multiple businesses as I’m sure others here have, there’s literally a bazillion details that come up. Forward movement is all you can focus on, it’ll happen. It’s never a straight line, business is more like a drunken sailor walk, constantly readjusting your route.

i wish you the best. There’s a ton of experience here from all walks of life, please use us a resource.

This is Chris, the ex prime contractor to the cruise missile in the late 80s, I have experience, more than I ever wanted, with DCASR (Defense Contract Area Service Region). I’m an old tax accountant as well. And have been in business with my brother since the mid 1980s, primarily developing real estate, construction and equipment leasing.

No one knows how big your venture, or those you ultimately supply, will be. I personally think you are “in the right place at the right time” 100% markup for your raw materials (primers) is more than reasonable to me. As you progress forward hopefully you’ll find economies of scale in your purchasing. FWIW, I was also in the restaurant /bar business for a long time, our COGS on food was 31% liquor 20%, your cost of goods sold is somewhere north of 50%.

I’m off my soapbox now. Let’s get this party started.

NFK. We greatly appreciate your trying to adress concerns, we don’t allow selling outside the trading post, so let’s keep it to answering questions and posters can go to the website if they want to.

Thanks

My pleasure. I don't see any point in working in this industry if you're basing your business model on lies. I am not motivated by money. I actually have a day job that's very flexible, which is why I'm also able to do this, that pays me very well, gives me and my family our benefits and retirement along with quite a bit more. My motivation is to serve the industry I love myself as a consumer, before capitalism. We are all shooters here at heart and this turned out to be a problem that after some research and contacts made, seemed like I might be able to help solve, at least on a small scale.

Noah, Thanks for all the straight forward responses.....I too would like to have You and your Father sign my first 1000 box (465369).....I also ordered 4000 more on (465379)....I was a little unsure of using non-lead primers (don't know if shelf life is going to be as high as the standard US mfr with lead styphnate) but I decided to risk it and do a second order in the same day for 4k more.....use the extra $60 to help start-up the bullet mfg side......do you plan on getting any smokeless power distribution from Europe also?

Scammers are some of the laziest people on earth. For Noah to take the time to explain everything, and in understandable English, that convinces me he's legit. I'm adding another order right away as I don't think 15M primers are going to last long.

Noah, thanks for the update. I added another 5k to my original 5k. I think you will keep my local cowboy shooting posse in action for the summer, especially the newer shooters that haven't stockpiled for the season. FWIW I have been using Ginex LPP and SPP for over 4 years.

Scanned every post in this thread and started to order 5000 and then......... $30 flat rate shipping?

Once HazMat fees are factored in, that $30 almost sounds too good to be true.

Now I'm currently setting on a fence...........

I thought I'd paid attention while reading the entire post but I somehow managed to miss the explanation of how the price for 5,000 primers increases from $240 to $300 by adding them to your cart....

Because the price is $60 for the 1,000, then you switch to 5,000 it adds the additional 4x$60 to the $60, instead of a whole new option.

What it is is the website is using the wrong pricing scheme in the design. That pricing scheme is for a base price, and options below it add cost to the base. So base price is $60 for 1,000 primers the added “option” of a total of 5,000 primers adds an additional $240 for the additional 4,000 primers.

Oh yeah, okay I see it now. It's $60 + $240, not $240 for 5,000. Weird way to do it but whatever.....guess I'll just gripe about the double hazmat shipping charge when you double your order. I'm okay with them putting both orders in the same box.

Better be sure to not drop any primers! :what:
I just finished up pulling down over 400 heavy tarnished 40's - 50's various HS Black Tip, Ball and Tracer 30.06 for rebuilding with fresh 3031 powder and new LRP. Old primers went in the scrap bucket:what:and the powder goes to weed control.

While I'm currently ~OK~ on primers and I'm still managing to be rationed a few here and there at the LGS, I'll probably stay the course for now. But, I'm definitely keeping NFT 'in my back pocket'

Question for fellow THR members:

Regarding the statement from post # 149,,, The shipment at this time, is on the water. The final border to cross is from Canada to the US

Am I the only one who had visions of a fully loaded speedboat, waiting for the right time to cross Lake Michigan???
