Have anyone used UNIS "GINEX" GORAZDE Small Pistol Primers? Has anyone had a problem with them? I am thinking about buying 5k or them, anything I should know? Nothing but 5 star ratings but only 4 reviews as of now. Thanks for any information.

I've had very good luck with the batch I bought. I got mine from Capital Cartridge...I see they've reduced their price again :D

They load very smoothly...I've only loaded about 600... and seem softer than the CCI that I commonly load. I had a couple of friends tell me that their pistols tuned to set off Federal SPP have not had any problems setting these off.

BTW the name of the company producing the primers is UNIS GINEX D.D. which is located in the city of Gorazde in the country Bosnia-Herzegovina

I split a 5,000 case with someone. I’ve only loaded 200 of them.

I had problems with them fitting in some primer pockets. About 3-100 crushed the primer. Another 4-5 per 100 did not seat all the way. On those I was able to fully seat them with my hand primer.

That said, I used them on mixed headstamp brass. I have 1,000+ new Starline brass and 400+ once fired Win brass I think they’ll be fine in.

I guess my take-a-way is they are slightly bigger. I fired about 20 to test them, they all went bang.

PS: I even have the same issue with Federals, but at a far lower rate.

PSS: 9mm

Thanks for answering the obvious question of headstamps. Given that you also experience the same issue with Federal SPP, you might want to pay attention to see if there is a headstamp which consistently exhibits this problem. I'd expect you might find a lot of crimped primer pockets or headstamps, like S&B, which seem to have tighter primer pockets.

Another factor to consider is which priming tool you're using. I don't personally use a hand primer any longer, but never had much consistency with Lee or RCBS ones I've used.

The Ginex have seated well when priming on my Hornady LNL progressive (300 cases) and are working very well...pocket alignment and seating depth... when priming on a Lee ACP I just got (600 cases)

Like others, they work fine. As far as loading, I don't think any brand has a perfect record, everyone has their favorite and since all I use is range pickup brass I expect a little variation. As mentioned, they just lowered their price to $450 with no shipping/hazmet charge. I may order another 5m so I won't have to deal with them again for another year or so.

I had my guy pick up a case of them from his local shop I haven't had a chance to try them yet.
Even cci primers can be bad. I took a box I just loaded up last week to the range and 7 out of 7 didn't fire. And I loaded about 350 of them. But I used my sequential priming method as I load so until I spot test some of the rounds they stay in order as I loaded them. Then after I test some samples I box or bag them up.
I already loaded and fired several samples from that brick and now towards the end I'm getting a bunch of duds.

Yes I have used them. Pretty much exclusively as they were all I could find when starting out. I the same comments as above. Some headstamps gave me issues and I also needed to learn the “feel” of my progressive. I’m to the point now where I know when they are seating properly and when I need to lean on it a little more. Very clean primer pockets have also been important. Just ordered and received 10k so there is that.

I picked up a bunch right before this sickness swept across the nation, but havent needed to try any as of yet and probably wont need to test any for a few more years. I heard many mention problems with them seating early on but not much lately so I figured some were slightly oversized and have since been corrected.

I have yet to have any fail to go bang. As a newb I'd be hesitant to know what is oversized and what isn't, but it makes sense they may be slightly big. When getting used to my progressive I wasn't using clean brass. Just trying to figure things out. Once I started wet cleaning, I must say things have improved. I'd say 1 out of 20 give me resistance.

I did notice one thing but don't know what it means. Their pistol primers use nickel for the cup and the rifles are brass. Wonder why they do that.

What I saw on Capital Cartridge’s website was SP nickel cup and SP brass cup and SR brass cup. Since the SP comes with a choice of brass or nickel cups, has anybody identified any difference in reliable firing or in ease of seating between the two? I suspect the brass cupped ones are easier to seat, but that’s just speculation on my part.

They work great. Been using them in 9mm and 38spl and they perform the same as my Winchester primers when chronograph. I have used close to 800 thus far with zero seating or firing issues.

Yes, have had good luck with both 9mm and sp 45acp

Nickel plated cups or plain brass cups?
