Protesters' Encounters With Delegates on the Town Turn Ugly

This article pisses me off on so many levels. Has the younger generation gotten so stupid that they protest just for the sake of protesting?

I think they have... This seems to serve no purpose... It certainly does not endear the Democratic Party to me...

The people who know what the hell they're talking about would not protest a group just for being in their city.

These are the same people who attend sporting events and scream at the other team to go home... Now there's a good idea  And then where would these "sportsfans" be if there were no team to play against their home team? Brilliant!

Children (of what ever age) throwing tantrums cannot be reasoned with, nor should they be tolerated. Rather, they need a good spanking and a 'time out' until they are ready to behave in a civilized manner. JMNSHO.

The only reason why these people are doing this is because its safe for them to do so. They might get a bruise from getting hit and a misdemeanor charge against them, but on the upside they might draw a delegate or two across the 'foul line' and get them in the national headlines- which would hurt the Republicans.

If the good guys fall into the fray, they will be harmed more than the bad people- as we all know, bad people don't play by the rules and there isn't any sensationalism when a thug beats up an innocent person, afterall society has been conditioned to believe that is what thugs do.

The protesters are cowards. Like others mentioned, if they were to do these sorts of things in back alleys in the South or Midwest, there would be alot of protesters going to the emergency room. Its the same reason animal rights activists will throw paint on a little old helpless lady wearing a fur coat, but won't do the same to a group of Hell's Angels who are head to toe clad in leather.

I'm not trying to be a smarta$$ or anything but seriously were there any incidents of Republican protesters hurting anyone or disrupting the Democrat convention?

Not that I heard of. I would assume that there wasn't, because the high likelihood of the media playing up such an incident to an extreme degree makes it unlikely that we wouldn't have heard of it by now.

I know an admitted socialist who told me his dream vacation would be to go to the bars, clubs and shows where Republican politicians go an "get in their faces, although I'd rather get in their faces with a baseball bat!".

I think that reflects the way alot of these people think, and since people tend to believe that other people think the same way they do, they fear other people having power (or guns), and lust for power over others.
If they could get away with it, they would aquire that power by whatever means necessary.

In my 3 years at my current position I get to interact with 100's of college age kids for NY and NJ daily. Most of them might as well be aliens from Mars. They are some of the rudest, most arrogant little snots I've ever seen. The only people in recent memory that are more obnoxious are my neighbors who are all native West Virginians. They are more passive aggressive. Instead of personal confrontation they prefer drunken ATV riding up and down the 1.5 lane road through my neighborhood at 2am on bikes with no mufflers.

Lets face it, stupid people are everywhere. Some brands just get more press.

Just to be fair, I don't know that you can properly categorize the 'protestors' as "Democrats' - they sound more like anarchists who would protest 'the Administration' regardless of which party is in power. they're basically another variety of elitist who knows whats best for you, and BTW, they don't have to follow thier own rules, on account of they know best:barf: They give legitimate protest a bad name.:fire:

"...an offer by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg to give peaceful protesters buttons and shopping discounts."

Huh? What's next, giving muggers and rapists party hats and a free Carribean cruise?
