I would like to state that I looked for a source and could not find one, I came to this understanding due to a couple of postings on here that vaguely hinted at that and that I thought AI was nationalized in the manner that the SA-80 is made by Royal Armories and thus the British Government owns them. It turns out this was wrong and I would like to apologize for any misunderstanding I may have caused.

Mods: if you would like to delete the statement that I made earlier about AI feel free.

Wow I think the AI .338 AWM looks just like a M40A3 and all the other look alike rifles out there, not to mention it's a bolt action. GRANTED the bolt action is a preferred Sniper's Rifle but it's just not for me. If you like it BUY IT and let us know how it shoots.

Bones you are the man that thing is sick don't really care for the suppressor but damn. now does he want 8,500 or 6495???

Thanks :)
The rifle will ship to your FFL in a hard case for $6495 or I will consider trade for Ruger AC556 folder or a HK presample MG.
Looks like $6495 gets it to your FFL. I beleive the owner spent 8.5K building it.

That is sweet I hope that I can opt to not have the suppressor... I don't have the tax stamp for it and I don't want to buy one yet.

I will definitely check out Snipershide.com to read some articles by Tom Irwin and learn more about the AI, Yet I still say that it's just not my style of weapon.

price a knights armament model 0 with a scope and a case, then price a psg-1(comes with scope and case).not much difference.oh,and see the waiting list for the mod 0.both are claimed to shoot .5 inch.

holy crap he does keep jacking the price... what's he thinking??? if it didn't sell at the lower prices then no ones going to buy it if you jack it up another 5k.

There are functional, mechanical, and structural differences between the M40* and the AI-AW series rifles.

Indeed, doesn't the AI use a rear-locking three lug bolt?

USMCDK. In one of these postings you indicated you would use the rifle for hunting whitetail deer?, I think you said? I hope it is from a stand or a benchrest, as the PSG is a heavy rifle to tote around.

'Course if you are built like the Incredible Hulk, you will likely not notice...

in regards to stubbicat. No not built like the hulk and yeah I would probably be in a stand or somewhere that I could keep the rifle close but not have it's weight barring down on my arms. I don't think any hunter does that to begin with even with a light weight 8lbs rifle???

well....

As someone who has owned two PSG1's in the past I must say in todays market I would definately take a pass from a shooters prospective. From a collectors standpoint they definately ARE cool and something you'd want to have. But they optics suck from todays standards. It IS definately more accurate than an M21 tactical that I did have, it's smoother as well.....But if you have that kind of money I'd rather have (and do have) an AI every day of the week hands down. Get a high quality bolt gun and do the precision rifle thing right with good optics. The optics on the PSG1 ARE quality, but dated. Making a 600-800 or beyond cold bore shot with the proprietary optic provided would almost be impossible. There are no mildots / hold over points.

Save your money, buy a hardcore custom 700 (Tac Ops) / GA precision or an AI AE or AWP. Have them both and have a few bucks left over for some quality glass as well. They might not be semi auto but your end result will be more shots on target, especially farther away.

anyways good luck.
