Took some of my .380ACP home loads to the range today to give a try to the load I found best last week.
95gr RMR FMJ RN over 3.1gr HP38.

I am no marksman for sure, but pretty pleased with what the gun/bullet can do. Target at 10 yds, Bersa Thunder.
I am right handed with the left eye dominant. So trying to shoot/aim with both eyes open. Not sure yet if it is working. But do know my Bersa front sight is going to get a dab of bright paint. Hard for these 79 year old eyes to pick up.

So this is standing & one handed? Who cares about the bright paint—looks great.

Looks good to me! I too am dealing with old eyes. Handguns aren't too bad, but not as good as yours. Aiming a rifle when wearing TRIFOCALS is a huge pain in the poster. Garand sights ain't too bad though...

Awesome! If it were me, I’d be just as happy the reloads worked, I had all my digits, and more important than holes on target.

You may want to label your target a bit more with what the “home rolled” rounds were made of. It’ll help in the future when you try to remember exactly what was I shooting that day???

Regarding the diagonal, I believe @Walkalong was referring to this:

Part of the issue may be your target. The human eye wants a definitive black bull to aim at.
Next time take a marker and simply color the inner circle black. I bet you see a definite closing of the group. Probably 1/2 to 1/3 the size !

I have a handgun range on the property. Nothing fancy, basic 25Yd range. Occasionally one of the neighbor's uses the range. We do have stipulated range safety rules. Rules are a benefit to the safety of the individuals utilizing the range. We've had a couple minor issues that have been resolved. The rules are basic safety procedures. You break a rule that's the end of your range usage.

My eyes are same age as rest of me, 71, and I too have trifocals (well progressives actually).

I quit fighting to find a focal length and for years now my shooting glasses have been 1) left eye computer/pistol sight distance and 2) right eye typical long distance.

Shooting with both eyes open your brain very quickly takes care of all that dominant eye and focusing nonsense.

What? You haven't heard? Confusing your brain like that causes Alzheimers. Just kidding. I have the exact same type of corrective glasses. Nothing beats a young pair of eyes, but we do with what we have. Thankful it works somewhat. We can still shoot and group.

Used to be I had lots of friends to go to the range with......now not so many. They keep dying.;) Actually the biggest problem is desire and energy. Getting to the range to make new friend takes effort.....the older I get the less I do that.....my own fault....I need to put a slogan on my mirror in the morning....."just do it, anyway."

Great progress!

Are you interested in defensive shooting maybe for CCW? IDPA targets can be helpful in that regard. There are a slew of defensive targets out there. If you shoot w/ someone else, ones with numbers in bubbles are fun. Your partner calls a number and you shoot it as fast as possible. Anyway, here is an IDPA cardboard target that can be taped over quite a bit.
