Can anybody who has shot an S12 tell me how it feels compared to a 20 gauge pump?

I have a recoil sensitive other half and cant justify buying one unless she can shoot it too. She hates my 12 gauge pump but she can shoot her 20 gauge pump all day.

Thanks!

P.S. I really really dont want to get a saiga 20, I load my own shells and am perfectly setup for 12 gauge, 20 gauge? I have absolutely nothing for the 20 gauge, that's her gun, she buys all her ammo, and I hate the gauge, thanks for being considerate :)

Recoil perception is very subjective. It also can depend a lot on how a gun fits an individual. I think my S12 is fairly soft shooting I'm not sure how I'd compare it to my 20 ga pumps. Best bet is to see if you can find one to shoot.

The only 20 gauge pump here is an 870 with 21" barrel and straight grip stock. It weighs about 6 lbs, 2 oz.

The bone stock Saiga 12 I tested was about 7 lbs. It kicked MUCH less than that little 20.

That is almost exactly her gun too! she has an 870 with a 19 inch barrel! Thank you!

get a limbsaver recoil pad!!!! worth the $50!!!! your shoulder will thank you!!! so will your wife! you will both love it! I shoot clays with my Saiga 12 and the first time I shot a few hundred rounds, I had a huge bruise on my shoulder... then after limbsaver... nothing at all but an enjoyable shooting gun!
