Sounds like, and looks like from where it is positioned, that it helped you keep your head more erect - which is something that will help increase your score. A lot of folks try to shoot clays or birds in the same manner that they do turkey or deer......usually not a good thing. If it works for you, good for you

To 1K - "stuffed shirt" is really uncalled for..........

Not at all, most clay target shooters are a lot more friendly than the mall ninjas at indoor ranges - and a lot more courteous...........BUT
to keep this on track...............

Glad it worked for you eastbank - personally, I would have issues with that in my peripheral vision

hey eastbank;
how was the eotech and what model # did you go with??? and other information you have for it???

the eotech is the 512.A65,it uses AA batteries(600 hours). i have fired over 200 shots with no loss of zer so far,i normaly use a browning BT-100 for trap and i am a fairly good shot. i just had the 1100 in the car from sighting in the eotech and thought i would try it, i did get a few wierd looks when i got it out,but after shooting a round with it,several of my friends wanted to shoot it, well they were very surpized, when they hit with it too. when i pulled it up on a bird with both eyes open it was very easy to follow the bird and superpose the circle dot on the bird and pull ahead and pull the trigger, it was easy to catch the bird and pull ahead and see the correct lead for me. the ones i missed were what looked like strait aways,but in fact were either breaking alittle left or right and i shot off to the left or right alittle high. i,m going to shoot it again on sunday and i will try it on five stand in the fucture. top is a browning BT-100 next,browning citori next two older rem,s 870TB and rem 870TC. eastbank.

The optical sights definitely work, but they give the hidebound traditionalists the heebee jeebeeies. I can't talk because I'm the same way about plastic. Years ago I used a Weaver Qwik Point with excellent results, but the natural illumination, fogging, weight, bulk, and endless mount issues finally made me give it up. I have eyed the SpeedBead with interest, but don't know if I trust that mount either.
I shot skeet, trap, long range waterfowl, doves, and even did some shooting with an occluded sight, all with excellent results.
