My father and I were breaking down his 1187 for a good clean because it wasn't cycling properly. I did most of it so I claim to be the one at fault. I pulled the gun apart everything was fine. I go to put the trigger assembly back in the gun and so on. I get everything back together and when I push the bottom piece of metal to push the bolt forward it was jammed. Also the "feed lip" (what I call it), but the bottom plate where you feed your secondary and third round won't push up. It won't move at all actually. So basically the button to push the bolt forward is stuck and won't push the bolt forward. Also the metal lip for your second and third shells will not bend so you can feed rounds into it. I'm going to take it to a gunsmith. Anyone have an idea before I take it in? By the way I have an 870 and love it, but their automatics I'm not fully sold on yet.

First off, don't force anything. Sounds like you uncocked the hammer and then put the trigger group in with it that way and it is not where it should be and is binding, or the "link" has dropped out of the action spring follower. Drop the trigger group again and cock the hammer if needed, and be sure not to let it fall and bend the carrier latch. Anyway with the trigger group out you can make sure the bolt and everything is free like it should be.
