Remington .22cal Smoothbore Model # ?

Way back when I was a youngster, Remington made a .22 smoothbore for birdshot and there were tiny clay birds you could shoot at the county fairs. You never see these critters at gun shows, and I'm drawing a blank on what model number Rem that sweet little piece was. Does anyone remember? Thanks.

My local sportsmen's club is considering having an indoor "mini" meat/turkey shoot throughout the winter -- and a smoothbore throws a very nice pattern compared to .22's with rifling. The thought of taking one of my old Winchester 67's and hand-lapping the barrel enough to smooth out the rifling isn't an attractive option. Any other .22 smoothbores you're aware of? Especially new production. I don't know of any.

Remington made a special run last year; evidently they sold well enough to be cataloged. The 572 shotgun now appears as a regular item and is readily available as current production. Davidson's has 10 right now.

Street price about $500. Some of the old guns may be collectible and hence even more. Hard to say.

Browning made some SA-22's in smoothbore, I think, or maybe it was an aftermarket modifier who sold a few years ago. I know some guys who are restoring and rebuilding a few old ones into smoothbores with solid ribs and beads to replicate those, all by hand. They look nice. I'm not sure how many they plan to build, or how long they'd take to do it, but I can find out if you're interested.

Long ago, someone made a spring trap that threw crackers. Apparently that's what they do with these things -- shoot at crackers.

Meaning small round hard carbohydrate food items, not white people...

I find the Gamo air shotgun intriguing, too...

Marlin quit making the Model 25 Garden Gun a few years ago, but they shouldn't be too expensive.

Yep! You guys got it... the 310 Little Skeet gun. I remember seeing the thrower and the little clay birds (actually shot a few) at the local county fair in the mid-60's. I was about 10 then...
