So you keep a defective dangerous gun??
My gun is no more defective or dangerous than any other Remington made since the 1940's. Just because yours hasn't done it YET does not mean it is any safer. Your guns are just as likely to do this tomorrow as mine is.
The real problem is the un necessary trigger connector that Remington used to use in all of their bolt rifles, (except the 788 series). It makes for a much more complex trigger that is highly suspctable to dirt and debris. Remington claims their triggers won't do this if clean. Probably so, but what they don't tell you is how little it takes to foul their triggers. If something as small as a single flake of unburned powder finds its way into the trigger connector, it will pull the trigger for you. When you move the safety, the gun fires. When the debris falls out, the problem goes away. It is impossible to keep a Remington trigger clean enough to guarantee this won't happen. The more I research this the more I'm convinced this is what happened to my gun. The same can happen to any other Remington.
Try reading and doing a little research and learn. Here is a bulletin for gunsmiths to help them understand the Remington trigger and connector.

Trying to blame a TV network for attempting to destroy a gun company is just plain silly. This problem has been well known and documented for decades. Remingtons own people discovered the problem and suggested a trigger change before the 1st rifle ever left the factory. Management decided not to make the change because of cost over runs. That is easily documented.
In the last 60 years an estimated 10,000 incidents have been reported to Remington. They have been sued 75 times for guns doing this. I have no doubts that some, maybe many of these incidents are caused by improperly adjusted or maintaned guns, but I know for a fact many are not.
Find just one incident where someone has a rifle made by any other manufacturer were the gun discharged for an unexplained reason. Find me one person who has sued any other gun manufacturer claiming this happened to them.
