Remington 722-40X Build

Liked the way this ca1950 722 shot in its stock form so thought I'd add some refinements in handling and accuracy. Coyote medicine.









Used the Holland's Pillar System in the bedding job, floating both barrel and action, and a Timney Single-Stage trigger @ 25oz:







First results are pretty good for factory varmint ammo:

What power is the Unertl? I sure would like one north of 20x....I have a 16x and a 24x Redfield 3200 for my Remington 37's and 40x, but hope to stumble on a stronger Unertl one day.

A 12X Ultra-Varminter with adjustable head.

I may switch it to a plain-head 10X Varminter with dehorned mounts, however, as too much magnification and too much fiddly stuff aren't ideal for coyote shots.
