Repurposing non gun stuff as gun stuff

I have a Pedersoli Carleton BP caplock pistol. I like to clean my BP guns by running soapy water thought the barrel. That was difficult with the Carleton without getting water into the trigger mechanism, which can't be separated from the barrel. I bought a cheap car windscreen washing unit (12 euros), it came complete with a reservoir/pump, some plastic tube, a T connector and a push-button switch, plus some bits and pieces that were not needed. I plugged one of the holes of the T connector with a wood screw, converting the connector to an angled nozzle that fits nice and tight into the pistol's nipple hole. Made a simple L-shaped stand of scrap wood, attached the reservoir/pump and the switch on the upright part. Connected the tube to the pump and the nozzle, and an old 3-12 V power supply to the pump and the switch. Ta-da! Now I can hose water through the fire channel and barrel with adjustable pressure, and not a drop gets into where it should not.

I use the cloth bag that comes with each pair of Toms Shoes as a dust cover for my turret press.

I've also used heavy duty tool boxes to store extra ammo, and fishing tackle boxes as spare gun parts containers.

Green bullet box for holding projectiles is used for .223 reloaded ammo, it holds 75 rounds.

My old boxer briefs (washed first of course) cut into rags and patches, nothing is as soft as worn down cotton boxer briefs.

Ice cream containers for levels of brass prep (cleaned, trimmed, once fired, twice fired, etc.).

Grand Theft Auto lockbox that came as a special edition for loose .22LR.

.22LR bulk boxes for reloaded .223, most hold 75 rounds.

I used to be a medical equipment repairman, I got an old oxygen concentrator carrying case for free. This box is huge, it will hold 6000 rounds mixed between centerfire handgun and rifle ammo. It's hard plastic, rubber sealed, has a stainless steel piano hinge, and two locks.

MAC Tools bag that I got for free when I got some new ratchets is now a range bag.

Mosin ammo tin that holds small parts, extra handgun grips, and extra cleaning brushes.

Gym bag shoulder strap that is old school camo that has been remade into a sling.

Old large pill bottles for ear plugs.

Metal coat hanger coated with rubber and bent to fit into the door reinforcement panel on my safe to hold my bullpup 10/22.

10"x10"x8" chocolate tin for holding oils, copper solvent, and locktite.

Wood blocks cut to hold barrels.

Galvanized steel pipe, elbows, and T fittings for a AR500 steel target stand. I know I have more but trying to remember everything is hard. Besides, I don't want to go on all night.

Cigar tubes to hold a single calibers jag, brush, mop, patch holder, Remington Squeegee thing, chamber brush, etc.

Pill bottles, rolaids containers, plastic peanut butter jars, Gatoraid bottles can be used to store bulk ammo.

And of course there are other uses for tennis racket cases...

I love this thread!

An old teletype printer stand with a piece of left-over hardwood butcher block counter top from my kitchen remodel attached to it is my loading table.
laundry room utility cabinets stacked on top of each other are bullet, tools and supplies storage.
Steel coffee cans hold shot. Plastic coffee cans hold brass and/or bullets.
Thick, heavy duty Ziploc small parts bags liberated from the trash at work hold small parts on the bench or small quantities of finished rounds to be tested.
An electrician's brief case style tool box became my range tool kit.
Silicon desiccant pouches from parts shipments at work become my gun cabinet desiccants.
Occasional scrap lead become my bullets.
