Hey guys.
I really do want to keep especially the length short on a can I'm getting to put on a 44 Magnum lever action and perhaps on a Ruger guide Scout 375 Ruger among other things.
Yhm has the resonator k but it looks like that leaves a lot to be desired as far as sound reduction.
Does anyone have a rex sellentium mg7k458? Seems very similar to the yhm resonator k both are around 5 in and 10 oz.
But how well do they do actually reducing sound compared to something like the silencer code Omega 300 or hybrid 46?

Does anyone have the big version of the rex sellentium mg10 ultra 458?
That looks like it would serve my purposes perfectly but it weighs 20 oz and is 8.6 in long and I just can't live with that.

I'm also seriously considering an Accipiter 7 in Long by MachV
Along with the silence Co hybrid 46 and the Griffin bushwacker 46

Your thoughts and assessments and experience please?

My main goal with the suppressor is to add the ability to suppress 44 Magnum lever action and 375 Ruger both of which I own threaded AND to serve on hunting rifles ranging from 243 to 300 Win Mag but mostly 308.
I already have a silencerco Omega 300

rex silentium mg7 and the yhm resonator 2.

in terms of sound suppression off a supersonic rifle, do you think a yhm resonator 2 or a rex silentium mg7 would perform better?

it looks like the resonator has 8 baffles and about 12.5 cubic inches of internal volume.
rex silentium has 7 baffles and about 11 cubic inches of volume.

there is also a resonator K, which is apparently 10 decibels louder (145 vs 135) than the regular resonator 2 (on a 20" 308. yhm's numbers) 10 decibels is for sure noticeable right?

Which can would you point him to? he's hoping to use it on a 308 bolt gun, a blackout pistol, and a 223 ar15

In general, I'd say the Resonator R2. If he's wanting a slightly shorter can and planning on using direct thread, the Rex is well made. But it will be a little louder, and he's going to need at least one more DT mount or spring for a different mounting system to swap between his hosts, where the Resonator comes with one brake for the included QD mount, and he can simply affix YHM QD brakes to the other two hosts, no need to remove & install any parts from the can for swapping onto different hosts. The YHM QD design is a good one, I recommend it for folks wanting QD with secondary retention.

As for the Resonator K or other K cans, they have their place, but they're more special purpose. He'd probably notice relatively little difference in noise between the K and full size on his 5.56 AR due to port noise, but it will be very evident to his ears on the .308 bolt action
