Yeah, I want to see that beast.

If the thread is shut down please PM the photo.

Here is mine, thank goodness I live in Idaho and as long as I don't drink I don't have to worry about going in bars. Of course, everyone I ride with knows and carries as well.

OK, Biker, dont let my rice burning zoomy bike represent Idaho, lets see some Milwaukee Iron

OH, GO BSU!, gee I hate the color of this bike, but it was an anniversary present ;)

Mine may not be fastest, best looking or the most comfortable, but it is paid for, runs $80/year for insurance & gets 75 MPG!!!! My riding dollar goes a LOOOOOOONG way.

Only if the road is straight. The bigger bikes will have a tough time keeping up with me through the twisties (i.e. a REAL race track), unless you are a veteran racer.

Top-end? Yeah, your bikes are faster :)

Looking forward to seeing a picture from you, Biker!

Ya Shooter, those R6's handle nice. I did learn this last weekend that my little Ninja will hang with one over 30 miles of twisty 35 mph (for cars) hiway.

Quite fun!

Or try to stay with me and my itty bitty rebel on dirt, sand and cow roads on my typical trip to work. The course determines everything, not the bike.

Biker ~

I'll leave it open just for you, but would appreciate it if everyone else would pitch in by making an occasional on-topic post that at least gives a passing nod to the thread starter's question. :)

Leadcounsel, it IS illegal to carry a concealed weapon into bars in the State of Washington.

As a rule of thumb, if you have to be carded to get in, or if there is a "No Minors" sign posted, do NOT carry your weapon inside.

In WA State, you also may not carry in:

Court houses
Police stations
Jail or correction facilities
Past the security checkpoint at any airport
Anywhere liquor is served as a primary function of the business, and
Anywhere where the business owner has posted that firearms are not allowed.

To the OP: I would have done the same thing myself--but I would not have gone and deposited my firearm at home. I just would not have entered; if someone asked why, I would have said, "Hey, I'm just not hungry right now--I'll meet up with you guys in an hour or so."

Powderman, I have not read about a few of those restrictions, specifically:
Police stations
Anywhere where the business owner has posted that firearms are not allowed

According to section d of RCW 9.41.300, I don't agree with this one:
Anywhere liquor is served as a primary function of the business

Can you cite where those are detailed?

I would have done the same thing myself--but I would not have gone and deposited my firearm at home. I just would not have entered; if someone asked why, I would have said, "Hey, I'm just not hungry right now--I'll meet up with you guys in an hour or so."
I'm not sure. Would you have sat on the bike outside, watching everyone socializing inside with puppydog eyes? :) My friends know I wasn't going there to eat anyways.

The course determines everything, not the bike.
I disagree. It's ALL about the rider's skills!

Thanks Pax. I'm transfering a roll of film to a disc today. Then, all I have to do is figure out how to get it from my computer to THR.

Oh, and I carry handguns when I'm riding.:)

Take a closer look at 9.41.300...

a: "The restricted access areas of a jail, or of a law enforcement facility..."

Normally, the ONLY area of a police station open to the public is a very small reception area. (Of course, there are some mega stations that have a large reception area.) The vast majority of the station is off limits to regular CCW.

b: "(d) That portion of an establishment classified by the state liquor control board as off-limits to persons under twenty-one years of age..."

Self explanatory. Don't carry inside bars. If you get caught, you go to jail.

And looking at the rest of RCW 9.41.300, you will note that there are other restricted places.

Bottom line--don't buck the system--exercise your right to carry, but do so within the law.

this is simple

Find a place on the bike where you can store the pistol
safe and securly. most bikes i know of have a compartment
under the seat that can somtimes be locked.
The front cowl almost always has extra unseen space.

if hes on an R6 theres not a whole lot of available real estate there. though I do agree there is likely a good spot under the fairings or maybe behind the cowel where a small compartment could be added. Perhaps pop a fairing off and see what you have for space. I know on my Busa theres a ton of room behind the front cowel. you could maybe fab a lockable metal box to mount in there somehow. Or do like a friend did on his cruiser and make yourself a locking toolbox to mount on the frame someplace.

i know its OT but I do have to ask uzimon, How do you wheelie the Busa? I've never had the guts to try it because I don't know how to. and you might want to check out www.hayabusa.org. Im a member over there too. PM me for details on that and the wheelie so we dont drag the thread too far off topic

Quite frankly I'd have taken it home without telling them anything at all. Just say, "I'll be right back." and go. Why take the chance that that will be the one day that some drunk belts you with a chair and the LEOs arrive just in time to find your weapon. Breaking laws is usually a very bad idea, especially when it comes to firearms.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I don't know how I'd manage carrying on my FZR. I'm not comfortable riding with an SP101 in my waistband or on my ankle... :uhoh:

I guess I don't have to worry too much since I rarely have time to ride it anymore... :(

Again, for the OP, I'd end up telling them I carry and letting the chips fall where they may.

I would have left it in the trunk. Don't break the law, and get a window seat.
Oh yeah, while we're posting pics of bikes...
not mine

We don't advocate breaking the law at THR. If it is illegal to carry concealed in a bar in your state, and you chose to do so anyway, you are breaking the law.

I don't let others know I carry. That is one reason I use a pseudonym here, so I can speak freely. 9 times out of 10, when a casual acquaintance knows you carry, you live to regret it, especially if it's someone who does not carry themselves. Not all those people you ride with can be close enough to safely let know you pack a gun, especially when drinking. I'd keep my mouth shut about the gun. They do not need to know.

In this case, I would simply tell my buds to have fun without me. Give the impression you have to go check on a hot redhead or something. Always start the ride with plans to go visit this mistress afterwards. Then, if they decide to not go to a bar, go as well. If they decide to go to a bar, then allow the redhead to call you away.

Or say you are an recovering alcoholic and bow out.

Here's my last scoot.

This is all very simple...
Tell your friends "I'll be right back."
Go to the house and take care of business.
When you get to the bar, if your friends ask,
just say, "I had to take care of business."
Most folks will assume that you had to
use the restroom.
If they ask, just say that you had to use the
restroom and do not like to "take care of business"
in a bar restroom. Most folks would agree.

Don't tell is my philosophy and I would have a safe spot to hide it if I decided to disarm. You guys might have the fastest bike, I have one that can go the furthest in the least time. 2000 miles, 35 hours driving, 41 total time. Did it last month. EH Super X, just bought it and rode it home.
