Does anyone know where I can get longer screws for my RMR? I mounted it on my HK VP9 and the screws aren't long enough to secure the sight to the gun. I'm using a sealing plate and know that removing the plate will help but I wanted to check on longer screws first.

McMaster-Carr . Hardware of any size imaginable. On the RMR I have (2) you have to use a sealing plate . Don’t need it for the SRO . E1378B55-F7C3-4D12-BDEC-7D988463025B.jpeg

Do you know what size you need? I bought some in 3/8" and 1/2" length to mount a Sig RomeoZero on a Brownell's Glock slide and have a few spares.

I ended buying at bag of 100 at Amazon. I needed them because I had to add a Reptilia plate. I bought a native cut slide and bought and installed suppressor sights, but I forgot that a native RMR cut puts the sight much lower than a MOS. The iron sights obscured the optic. Rather than getting and installing a new set of sights, I threw a Reptilia plate under that RMR. Leaving my sad life story aside, I now have a little bag with 98 screws. They were made from the best chinesium the money can buy and I had no issues.

Just in case, the size was #4-40 x 3/8" Flat Head

I am officially the dumbest person in this forum. Looking closer I see that I forgot to put the screws in the mounting plate which is why the site came off.

Not while I’m here…I can do some pretty dumb stuff and I don’t even break a sweat! LOL!!!

Hey there! I'm new on this forum. I came across your thread while browsing the old discussions and wanted to refresh with my 2 cents. I had the same problem with my RMR and found some longer screws at my local hardware store. Make sure to measure the screws you have and bring them with you to the store. You can also try searching for concrete/brick plugs online, they might have what you need. Removing the sealing plate could definitely help, but it's always better to have longer screws for a secure fit.

Sometimes it is cheaper to buy a bag of little screws from Amazon or e-bay than what you buy the number needed from other sources. I have a few examples of this. It's also handy to have a replacement available when you drop one and the gremlins get off with it.
