Ruger LCP frame cracked

So if the frame gave way at the crack, could the slide come back at you?
Unlikely. There are other things obstructing the slide and preventing it from coming out the back of the gun.

I would hope so, and hope they are adequate.

The barrel is retained by a pin through the frame and the slide can't get past it.

Even if the pin broke, the barrel can't come all the way back. It will catch on the mag or on the ejector/back of the magwell if the mag isn't in place.

Basically the only way that the slide can come off the back of the gun is if the entire front part of the slide breaks off, leaving the rear of the slide free.

Your photos show the major components as being your originals, I'll guess that the small parts they replaced include springs, so maybe the extractor spring was replaced. That could increase the tension on the round as it slides up the breech face during feeding.

Also, the indent on your AE FMJ is a "smiley" which results from recoil force slamming the barrel ramp edge into the top round in the magazine. Some people have done a "rampectomy" by trimming that edge so this doesn't happen, other people leave it alone if it doesn't affect function.

Since your slide, barrel, serialized frame insert are likely all original, the only thing else I can think of is the takedown/barrel pin was replaced, and it may have slightly different dimensions than your original, which might affect barrel travel during recoil?

I called ruger and 3 minutes later had a prepaid 2-day fedex return label in my email inbox. Will ship today.
You mean they didn't tell you to stuff it, and go buy a glock?

I've had my G1 LCP since the year they first come out, I'm really wanting the new Custom. I can't imagine a better pocket pistol.

The LCP is my primary carry weapon and it has been great. Got even better when I replaced the stock recoil spring with a stronger one. No more FTFs. Stay away from hot loads in tiny guns, they're not designed for that. One of the top performers in .380 time and time again is the Federal Hydrashok.
