finally shot my hand loads all i could find was 129gr. sst. good bullet but was looking for 140gr. without ordering online. yeah couldnt wait. scope was bushnell 3200 3x9-40. 47.5 gr. of h4831. 1 gr. below max from hodgdens website. good groups yes. 3 shot group.2 touching 1 .25" off the main group.
its all under an inch. but every time i got to that 3rd shot it always went to the the left. will getting rid of the pressure point get every thing going to the same spot?

will not do any thing till i get the 140gr. bullets and try them but i think this will not clear it up.

wow if that was my gun i sure wouldnt be worried about it. Is a VERY rare out of the box sporter weight gun that shoots under an inch. Especially a ruger.

Relieving the pressure point may help. Free floating the barrel may help. The first thing I would do would be see if the action screws are all tight. If one is loose, accuracy goes away. It sounds like the barrel is warming up (third shot) and walking. This may be from a pressure point or just a wandering barrel. After checking the screws, try putting upward pressure on the barrel at the end of the forestock, two or three layers of card stock for example. If that helps consider building an epoxy pad there.

Bedding the action will certainly help but the barrel may need to be free floted, pressure bedded or even full length bedded for accuracy. You have to experiment to find out.
