Treo, if you were to kill an 'officer' (crook w/ a badge), even if you were initially the victim, and you were right in defending yourself, you will be portrayed as a vicious, ex-special forces psycho, whom slayed police officers as they guided school children across the street. This isn't just hear-say. I've seen it happen. The media will portray you as such.

These incursions are usually Zetas, so you're not incurring the wrath of the Mexican Army, you're incurring the wrath of one of the drug cartels.

Not necessarily. There have been instances where the Mexican Army has entered 30+ miles past the border.

Were they on the payroll of a cartel? Probably. But that doesnt change the fact that they were Mexican soldiers in uniform, organized into units, operating under a chain of command, driving military owned vehicles, and carrying military issued weaponry.
