For those who know more about this subject, I always see people talk about wiping down their weapons with oil, CLP, after someone else has handled it, etc. and I assume that is from leaving fingerprints which could encourage the formation of rust.
This is always in reference to the exterior of a gun.
I've been reading a lot of information about cleaning handguns and nobody says to wipe down the interior of the frame (under the slide, magwell, etc.). Will these areas rust if they are cleaned with a solvent and not oiled afterwards?
Should I be oiling the interior of the magwell, under the slide, and other non-contact metal surfaces on a pistol?
