but now is higher priced compared to other foreign brands like Prvi Partizan for example.
you just have to shop around. I have 400 rds coming from Brownells for $68; it was 9.79 a box, with a coupon for free shipping and 10 off of 75.

Get on some mailing lists, act when the deals come

S&B handgun ammo is more competitive in price but I was thinking more about rifle ammo by S&B like 7mm and 8mm I remember when they were the only foreign quality maker priced way more reasonable compared to the U.S.A big three Remington , Winchester and Federal. I use to get S&B 8mm ammo for half of what the other American made was now S&B is almost a dollar a round and Prvi has crept up too.

Oh, yeah, PPU has become my rifle ammo of choice now. They make the 7.65x53 Argentine, I get it when I can, around $14 or so a box. Afraid all rifle ammo has risen quite a bit, and the surplus stuff has dried up, even for the Mosin.

I fed many hundreds of rounds thru my K98k DOT 44. The 196grain 8mm was quite a thump with that metal butt plate. At about twenty rounds I was getting a headache.

But in all my milsurp rifles, 7mm, 8mm , 7.62x54 and such S&B always produces better groups than Prvi though Prvi is not that bad. But as far as 9mm it is so popular that for that, I'd rather just get it from Walmart because it comes out about the same when you factor shipping costs. Calibers like .32 ACP and .44 Magnum is a advantage to buy online like brands such as S&B because local shops and Walmart are just expensive for certain calibers
