S&W 34-1 interesting!

I have one. It's an early example, so early it's built on the old I frame, rather than the later and longer J frame. I bought it 20 years ago. I walked into my local gun shop. I saw this (mislabeled as a Model 17) and almost broke my arm whipping out my wallet. The manager, who knew me well, was suspicious when I didn't even try to haggle:

LOVE when that happens, still wait for it to happen to me!

what’s it worth in that I frame configuration and 3 digit # too

I have a 2" square butt Model 34-1 and would have found it difficult to pass by a 4" version like you found at your LGS.
Coolest looking .22 Smith Ever! but I can’t, anybody wants it, let me know, they ship

What shop is this? I need another .22 like I need another hole in my head but my -10 is lonely with all my stainless and alloy Smiths.
I’ll pm you the shop info. Best shop on earth… but I need you guys to buy these Smiths, and Colt before do. I’m sworn off Beautiful Classic’s until I shoot everything I’ve bought

S&W 41 fans? they got 3 including a long barrel

Rimfire revolvers or pistols have never done anything for me. I have had several Model 17s, a couple Model 34s, a High Standard, several Rugers, they all left me feeling “meh” when done shooting. They have all gone down the road to finance centerfire purchases or parts for projects.

I am glad someone likes them.

Sorry to have misled you, but that's not the whole serial number. The last several digits have been edited out. It's early, but not that early.

That's a super nice price for a Model 34, even for 20 years ago! I paid over twice that in picking up this Model 34 for my wife.

Nifty little Kit guns!

Someone buy it PLEASE! pm me! I’ll give you the shops name! they ship

While $500 may seem like a deal, that gun has considerable wear. I'd gladly pay twice that for a mint specimen with correct stocks and box with literature.
Very True! Not worth it! and the rear blade was replace and stock is a target!

Thanks for the voice of reason!

wink wink… looks better in person, about 85% blue

I picked up a 4” 34-1 a couple of years ago. It had the box and stuff with it, then about a year later the GB seller sent me the S&W letter that the original seller forgot to give them when the gun was first sold. It is a nice little shooter.

I planned on shooting some rimfire revolvers tomorrow, this thread has just put the 34 in the carry case.

Stay safe.
