I believe I've narrowed down an issue with my 4513 TSW but before I tear into it I was hoping for some opinions.
When firing SA (trigger cocked) there a very pronounced catchy feeling in the trigger as I pull back through the takeup. Once I reach the point where it's going to fire it's fine. I pulled the slide today and looked for the problem. Looking down at the front of the drawbar I can see the drawbar plunger actually shifting on the drawbar as I slowly pull the trigger. I'm in the right area because I can see, feel and hear it. Has anybody experienced this? I can't see a problem other than what I explained but I suspect I might when I get it tore down. I also have a 3913 and a 669 and both have very smooth and quiet takeups.

Sounds like the "trigger free play spring" (located at the front of the draw bar and held on by a small rivet) is loose, broken or gone. There is a good thread at the SW forum with pictures (www.smith-wessonforum.com) on this topic. Use the search forum and type in "trigger free play sping" and then hit the post "new to me 4566 trigger clicking". Hope this helps.

I found that thread oldandslow. Great info! The drawbar plunger and spring shift slightly and it corresponds with the clicking and catch but I really didn't look at the play spring. I think you're on to something here. I may not have time to mess with it today but I'll post my findings when I do. Thank you!

I found some time and sure enough, that was the problem. The spring was actually twisted a bit, applying more pressure on the left side. A little gentle fiddling and all's well.

I just put about 100 rounds through the 4513. What a simple fix for an aggravating problem. It only affected my first shot since I just release the trigger to the reset point but it still bugged the heck out of me especially with it being my only TSW. It looks like the springs and rivets are still available from Numrich so I'm going to order a couple of each just to have them on hand. something tells me this will happen again and sooner or later it could break.
Thanks for the advice!

Glad things worked out and you're enjoying your pistol.
