Sunday I shot 1000 yards for the first time with my 6.5x55 rebarrelled Savage 110 wearing a 6.5x20 VX3. Somewhere between 600 and 1000 (skipped 800) i ran out of elevation on the scope so its time to upgrade my standard leupold bases to a 20 MOA version but I know nothing about them. Between Farrel, to Badger to ERW? Picatiny seems to be the only kind but I question their ruggedness compared to traditional leupold sets. I would be comfortable with traditional rings with a 20moa offset? I know I dont want Zee rings with theplastic inserts. Can someone chime in with recommendations/warnings? Also the receiver is round front, flat rear.

Shooting 1000 could get addicting- :D

Try Brownells page 331 in # 58 catalog it has the Warne steel one peice picatinny 20 moa mount plus their Perma rings. I have the level base on one rifle and the perma split rings with 4 screws per ring ,on several, they are quality and they work. I would match them against any other makers.
