Got to shoot my new savage mk II FVSR this weekend.
A couple of notes:
I was just shooting at 25 yards and was shooting suppressed.
I was trying to zero my scope, but I have a garbage scope on it right now. It's a Simmons 22 mag scope.
Anyway, accuracy was there (forgot to take pictures of the targets) and that accutrigger is very nice.
But I was having some extraction issues. Every couple of rounds, it wouldn't extract the fired round. I'd tried dropping the magazine, so as not to cause a double feed, and send the bolt home in hopes of the extractors (it has dual extractors) grabbing onto the fired round the second time. This worked a few times. But eventually I had to use my knife any pry the casing out. And eventually, it started not extracting every time I fired a round. So I stopped shooting that rifle and moved onto some other guns I had brought to the range.
I don't know why I was having issues though.
I don't love the magazines on the mk II, I feel the fit to the receiver is somewhat sloppy, though I never had an issue with it feeding.
I also hadn't cleaned the gun since I got it, so maybe there was factory oil in the chamber...
I was shooting aquila ammo. Maybe they were a little waxy, I couldn't tell.
Maybe some back pressure from the suppressor? I don't know if that can happen on a bolt gun.
I need to give it a good clean, and maybe lightly polish the chamber with some super high grit sandpaper.
What are your thoughts? Anybody have similar issues as me?
