I recently purchased a Savage MKII FV-SR on which I mounted one of the new ATN X-Sight II HD NV scopes.

Problem is the OEM rail on the FV-SR is not long enough at the rear for me to mount the scope for proper eye relief.

Contacted Savage with no luck - they referred me to Evolution Gun Works - it appears EGW may make the OEM rails for Savage?

No luck with EGW either...well, they said they could make me one for $250 and custom work takes 4 to 6 weeks.

Anybody know of a good solution?

I need around 3 more slots at the rear of the OEM rail - I can see the crosshairs OK, but I can't get my eye close enough to the rubber cup in order to see all the readouts at the edges of the scope's display.

I was going to suggest offset rings, but then I looked at that scope's ringless mount set-up. I think Haxby's suggestion of a rail extension is going to be it -- either that or consider a different scope.

Thanks - that got me started - I could probably stand a 1/2" rise so I'm browsing the 'Net (just had to know the correct search terms).
