SCCY CPX/2

Anybody have one of these? I've had one for a couple years, but only shot it a few times. I can regularly shoot 2-3 inch patterns at 25 feet with my SA pistols, but with the CPX/2 the best I can do is about 5-6 inches. I don't know if it's the gun, or if I just can't shoot DAO with any accuracy. I'd like to know how others do with the gun?

Yeah im kind interested in these too. I have a lcp and can group pretty well with it. Been thinking of getting a cpx2 or p11 as another budget carry gun

My lgs has these on sale for $249. Ive only tried the p11 trigger. While it wasn't too heavy, it was unusually long pull. Im guess the cp2 about the same?
While I like the idea of 10+1, im starting to lean toward a pf9 and carrying a spare mag lol.

That very well may be. The only other DA I have is a Taurus Model 85, and I'm not great with it either. Maybe I just need some trigger time to get used to it.

The best DAO trigger on an auto I've tried, and this seems to be backed up reviews online, is the Sig P250. They have just stopped making them in favor of the P320, but they can still be found. I think the Subcompact version would be the way to go if you are looking at a DAO that size. A bit more expensive, but not that much, and worth it, I think.

The CPX/2 does have quite a long trigger pull. None of my other guns are close.

That's why most trigger "upgrades" either reduce pull weight or reduce length of pull, or both.

Or maybe its just a crappy trigger and no amount of time with it is going to improve the shot groups.

When I first got my 17L, I really wasn't shooting it that well, and I read post after post about how I needed to get used to the Glock trigger - yada yada yada. I finally put a trigger kit in it and all the problems went away and I was able to make some really nice groups with it.

I have a SCCY II in fact I am on my second one as my neighbor liked the first one so much I gave it to him. The double action only trigger is more difficult to use when target shooting and your groups tend to open, however the pistol is designed for defensive use and I find I can fire a single shot to point of aim and then quickly move and place two shots relatively close to one another on my chosen point on the target. To me this is a close in and personal pistol and if I can place three shots on given parts of the target I have done well. My Sig P238 and P 938 are much easier to make big single holes in the target or quick and accurately placed shots where I want them. The Sig is about three times the cost of the SCCY which now serves well as my truck gun.
The SCCY is a robust pistol that can be used quite effectively as a CC pistol with more than the average amount of ammo. The warranty is in favor of the user and the time I had a difficulty with the safety irritating my hand and requested to purchase the non safety frame (CPX II) they simply sent me the frame and I did away with the unliked and unwanted safety. The pistol is not one you want to spend the afternoon shooting as after a mag or two it causes discomfort in these old hands, younger folks may not have this problem.

I have a SCCY CPX2 as well. I have other guns that shoot better and like what was mentioned, the trigger is long. I was going to use it as a carry gun, but bought a P64 instead.

Has anyone tried the extended magazines? If so how do they work, reliable?

Are the aftermarket trigger upgrades any good?

Contemplating getting one for a truck gun, found a place I can be out the door for less than $235.

The pistol comes with two ten round fingergrip magazines I do not know of extended mags or trigger improvements, i thought we were stuck with what we have.....i do not need higher cap mags or trigger adjustments for a close in defensive pistol.

Acera, Thanks I will update the springs in my pistol, the ten round mags are more than enough for me.

I've never bought one, but from the dry firing I've done I can say that the trigger is very long and heavy, it'd be difficult for a professional to shoot it accurately.

Tahunua, No one has said this is a target pistol nor for long range shooting, it is an in close defensive pistol and i can shoot mine accurately enough at ten yards to hit my target just where i want ( unless he is shooting back then things get more difficult).
Whom are you referring to as "a professional"?

probably a person with a few trophies and medals on their mantle. I don't recall ever making any claims about long range shooting I'm saying that without a great deal of practice, and an above average specimen and an above average shooter, it's not the BEST option to try and shoot accurately.

You are right this pistol, because of the long trigger does take a lot of practice to punch small groups, I guess i was a "professional" in past years and i would not have chosen this pistol for any kind of PPC or match shooting. I shoot my SCCY at cans and rocks or blow chunks of brick into red dust, then it rides elegantly in the console of my pick up untill another brick needs dusting.
For a carry pistol I have more user friendly firearms but the SCCY will meet the needs of a lot of folks that do not have a lot of interest in having 200 rifles and pistols in inventorry and wish to keep their investment light.

One of my sisters has a Sccy. Her husband got it for her but did not instruct her in its use at all. Learning of this I persuaded her to go take a class with me. We ran through a 200 round beginner class. She did have a little bit of trouble but after some CLP was sprayed on the rails it ran fine. I think it had not been cleaned or lubed.
I had a P11 & it was fine & decently accurate though harder to shoot accurately than some other pistols I own. After I got used to it I liked it though. A friend was interested in getting a pistol & I took him out & let him shoot mine to get an idea of what he might like. He picked the Kel-Tec up & shot it better than anything else he tried. I really wasn't using it anymore & it ain't worth a whole lot so I just gave it to him.
