Greetings,
I'm putting together a rifle for range, fun, and SHTF factor. It is very probably going to be a Savage in .308. Unless I can find another range in my area (if anyone knows of a range that's longer than 300 yards and is no more than 2 hours driving distance from the George Washington Bridge in NJ/NY, I would really appreciate some info) , my max distance is going to be 300 yards. Having said that, I'm planning for the future and want a scope that I can play with out to 1000 yards. Anyway, my picks right now are the Leupold Mark 4 PR 4.5-14 x40 w/ 30mm tube, or the Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14 x 44, or 6.5-20 x 50,...both with 1" tubes. I understand the Zeiss won't give me as much elevation capability, but I can always get a 20 moa base for the rifle. Really, I'm looking to see which one of these scopes would have better clarity, reliability, etc.
Thanks,
Ken
